London 2012: Day Six Review!

Some thoughts from day 6...
  • Football off day, the women's portion are having their final group matches today.
  • Cannot get over Belinda Snell's half-court shot in the final moments of the France-Australia match, in which it went to overtime (France won by 4)! Best game in all of basketball at London so far.
  • USA women's basketball still looking good.
  • I was more impressed in Ruta Meilutyte than I've had with Missy Franklin. Both teenagers, both under 18, both in different races, but it is just my opinion considering that Meilutyte is an underdog to us Americans.
  • John Isner and Kim Clijsters to the round of 16. Francesca Schiavone done.
  • Team GB men's hockey looked sluggish against Argentina.
  • USA women's water polo looked sluggish at times, but a great opener with Hungary.
  • Just like with South Korea, I would thought that Brazil would come back. I have to admit, McCutcheon telling his ladies to stay on course and voila! 2-0 in group play!
  • Juliana da Silva and Larissa Franca still the top team in women's beach volleyball. End of.
  • China and the US have twelve medals each.
Football is back for day 7, with the last day of group play for the women.
