London 2012: Day One Review!

Day 1 of the Games of the XXX Olympiad got to a good start, with the first day of competition with the women's football.

Here are some thoughts:
  • The Brits proved themselves that teamwork and communication between the Scottish players and the predominant English players were successful and it paid off. Hopefully it will help them throughout the tournament.
  • Brazil took a page out of Spain's 4-0 beatdown of Italy in the EURO 2012 final earlier this month. It seemed that toward the end of the first half, the Cameroon squad just began to gas out.
  • France completed a choke job similar to Adam Scott at Royal Lytham and St. Annes back on Sunday. It seemed that they began to gas at the midpoint of the first half and hopefully they'll learn from this choke to the USWNT (haha!) and move forward the rest of the way.
  • Japan, the World Cup champs, looked good in their first day of action.
So those are just some of the thoughts of this first day of the London games. One day down, 18 to go, and some point tonight (or Friday), I'll put up the men's football opening matches review from day 2.
