London 2012: Day Five Review!

Some thoughts from day 5:
  • I've read somewhere that there's a pregnant archer at the London games?
  • USA, Spain, Argentina off to a good start in the men's basketball!
  • As a member of the 4x100m relay team that finished silver, Michael Phelps' career medal count is at 17. He needs two more to top Larysa Latynina as the most decorated Olympian in history of the modern games. France won gold in that event.
  • After failing to make Beijing, Dana Vollmer wins gold! In the 100m fly final!
  • Natalie Coughlin gets a bronze just for being part of the women's 4x100m that won bronze (Australia won gold).
  • Camille Muffat? Who? Didn't expect that to happen, but man, did she have a great swim in the 400m free final!
  • USA men's water polo off to a good start. Very low scoring for most of the match against Montenegro, but still hung on.
  • USA women's hockey was a little tough, but not as tough against Germany in their opener.
  • What is the problem with the Welsh players refusing to sing 'God Save the Queen'? Team GB's football squads are supposed to be working together right, regardless if they're either Welsh, Scottish or English?
  • Rain, rain go away! Rain caused many matches at Wimby were cancelled and a slippery women's cycling road race that had a few off road excursions.
  • Spanish men's football 0-2 in these London games? The same program that won the 2010 World Cup and 2012 EURO? A campaign like this will not get such a team in the quarterfinals. My opinion.
  • USA and China have 11 medals through five days. Most medals so far.
Don't forget, the women's water polo and men's hockey are in acti
