London 2012: The Countdown Series: The Basketball is Set!

Only six days left until the first day of the London Olympics! After the qualifiers ended for basketball, the men's and women's pools are finally set!


The men's field of twelve is complete. Lithuania, Nigeria and Russia made their way to London through the FIBA qualifiers. Lithuania has two players with NBA experience-including center Linas Kleiza (pictured), who is the team captain this year. Nigeria and Russia also have one player on their roster with NBA experience.

On the women's side, Croatia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Canada and France made their way through the FIBA qualifiers as well. Those five squads have combined for only two players with current WNBA experience (only Czech Republic and Turkey have one each).
