London 2012: Day Four Review!

Some thoughts from day 4:
  • Watching USA/Croatia women's basketball (first day of women's basketball), and was impressed of how the Croats played through 40 minutes. Guard Jelena Ivezic and center Marija Vrsaljko played their hearts out.
  • Speaking of that game, Craig Sager (in Polo and NOT in his usual suits) mentioned that Vrsaljko missed out on the friendly between Croatia and the USA because...(drumroll please)...she tied the knot (sorry for those who want her so bad after her performance yesteday).
  • Congrats to Abby Wambach, now the Olympics' all time leading goal scorer in women's football. Oh, and the USWNT won.
  • Ryan Lochte wins gold in the 400m IM final and once again beats Michael Phelps.
  • Those endless OR's and WR's, including in the women's 400m IM final where a world record was broken. It's beginning to look like the swimming at Beijing already.
  • The first racquet smash of the Olympics in tennis: Ryan Harrison!
  • Thank goodness for the USA women's volleyball avoiding a choke by sealing the match in the fourth set.
  • Kim Clijsters isn't finished yet.
  • First gold in combat sport in the XXX Olympiad: Sarah Menzes in the 48kg judo.
  • Misty and Kerri still 'unbreakable' (reference of the title of a song by the Swiss duo sinplus.)
  • Felt sad for both Fabian Cancellara and Rigoberto Uran in the men's cycling road race. Cancellara lost it off the corner, and Uran lost the race. The end.
So that is all. I think water polo and hockey begin today!
