London 2012: The Countdown Series: Hong Kong

142 days to go until the first day of the London Olympics. Up next on the parade of nations: Hong Kong (HKG).

They have been in the summer Olympics since 1952, and only two medals have been won by their athletes, with one being a gold medal.

Two medals have been won by Hong Kong-one by team and one by individual. The only individual medal won for Hong Kong was by Lee Lai Shan (pictured). She won gold at Atlanta 1996 in the women's windsurfing (sailing).

Their other medal was a silver in the men's doubles of table tennis. Li Ching and Ko Lai Chak lost in the men's doubles final to Chen Qi and Ma Lin (CHN) at Athens 2004.

As of now, Hong Kong will send 17 athletes to London in six events, including cycling, swimming and table tennis.

Up next: Hungary
