144 days to go until the first day of the London Olympics. Up next on the parade of nations: Guyana (GUY).
Since 1948, the nation has participated in the summer Olympics. Only one medal was one by one of their athletes in the summer games.
Boxer Michael Anthony earned the bronze in the men's bantamweight class at Moscow 1980, despite losing to Juan Hernandez Perez (CUB) in the semifinals of that weight division. The only medal earned for Guyana in any of the Olympic games, period.
As of now, only 2 from Guyana will head to London to compete in two athletics events-men's 400m and the women's 400m.
Up next: Haiti
