AFL 2012 Premiership Season: They Might Be Giants...

A new era of AFL football begins Saturday night with the newest club to join the AFL, Greater Western Sydney, in their first ever real home and away game of their club. The Giants' first opponent is their (soon-to-be) crosstown rivals Sydney. The Swans, along with the Eagles were the lone interstate clubs to make the finals last season.

Tom Scott's Geelong Cats squad is ready to defend their premiership, as they open their season at Subiaco against Fremantle.

Last year's expansion club, Gold Coast, who slipped to wooden spoon status last year (and Port was in that position), will host the Crows.

7 and Foxtel will get exclusive rights to the AFL in 2012. Foxtel will carry all AFL games LIVE (same with their NRL package). The AFL will begin its new three year deal beginning with Fox Soccer Plus this season.
