Some thoughts from day 11...
- The last day of swimming saw the USA Swimming's men's and women's 4x100m medley relay teams wins gold, especially the women (Rebecca Soni, Dana Vollmer, Allison Schmitt and Missy Franklin) who broke the world record!
- The men's 4x100m medley relay win was the last medal for Michael Phelps. The G.O.A.T. will go out with 22 medals! And no, unlike Debbie, he isn't thinking Rio.
- How 'bout that Ranomi Kromowidjojo! Two golds and both in the freestyle races! Someone to watch for at the next two Worlds and at Rio 2016!
- And one more world record fell-in the 1500m final. Sun broke another world record in the pool! And Ous Mellouli won bronze (he was defending Olympic champion in that event).
- Great Britain/South Korea men's football quarterfinal was so breathtaking! Too bad Team GB lost.
- On the US broadcast of the Team GB/South Korea quarterfinal men's football match, one of the commentators (Arlo White?) mentioned that if any of South Korea's participants at London (in any sport) wins gold, they are exempt from military service! Interesting.
- Great performance by Mo Farah and Galen Rupp in the men's 10,000m final! Kenenisa Bekele too, despite the fact that he gassed yards away from the finish line.
- To the journalist who called Jessica Ennis 'fat' prior to the London games, get a life. Now that Jess that won the heptathlon, who's the fat one now?
- USA/Lithuania men's basketball truly the best game that USA men played in this tournament.
- Glad that top notch grunter Maria Sharapova didn't win in the gold medal match in the women's singles final at Wimbledon.
- Oscar Pistorius is in the 400m semifinals!
- Close finish in the women's 100m final as yet again, Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce wins another Olympic gold!
- Serbia was so tough in the pool, that after their win over the US, that they're probably the team the beat for gold in men's water polo.
