Some thoughts from day 14:
- Adam Krikorian almost cost the US women's water polo team the match with a violation in which he called time out when Fina rules state that only for coaches to call time out when the team has possession. This causes a penalty shot to go through goalkeeper Betsey Armstrong and tie the game, thus heading into overtime. But wow, what an overtime period for the US! Outscored the Aussies 2-0 in the two overtime periods and will play Spain in the final on Thursday!
- Speaking of Spain, it is their first trip to the final in their first Olympic appearance, we'll see what they'll do on Thursday against the US.
- As personally predicted, Sally Pearson did carry her momentum from Daegu to London and set the world on fire, breaking an OR and finally winning gold, ahead of three Americans in the 100m hurdles final!
- Sir Chris Hoy wins another gold! Individually in the men's keirin, which is his second gold in the London games and his sixth Olympic gold!
- Mexico's men's football ending its 44 year drought of medal-less campaigns in the Olympics by defeating Japan in the semifinal. Will they win gold on Saturday?
- Australia/USA in the women's basketball semifinal, for those who wanted their wish of these two teams playing for gold. This is to play for the gold!
- USA will play South Korea in a semifinal on Thursday in women's volleyball.
- Women's handball semifinals for Thursday: Norway/South Korea and Spain/Montenegro.
- Men's hockey semifinals for Thursday: Australia/Germany and Netherlands/Great Britain! Let's go Team GB!
- All US women's final in beach volleyball as it's team Kessy-Ross and Kerri Walsh Jennings/Misty May Treanor will play for gold. The swan song for May-Treanor, who is retiring after these games.
