Some thoughts from day 13:
- Quite possibly one of the best 120+ minutes of football in the London Olympics. My what a match between USA and Canada! And now we have a USA/Japan World Cup 2011 final rematch on Thursday for the gold! The match is at Wembley Stadium, where yet again this upcoming NFL season, a regular season game will be played there (Rams-Pats).
- Mijain Lopez goes back to back in the men's 120kg Greco-Roman! Could he return to Rio and go three-peating (think Karelin!)?
- Kirani James, who the night before, exchanged tags with Oscar Pistorius following the second heat of the 400m semifinals, becomes the first from Grenada to win a medal in the Olympics! This time it is gold!
- Felix Sanchez became the oldest to go back to back in men's 400m hurdles!
- Men's water polo quarterfinals on Wednesday: Croatia/United States, Spain/Montenegro, Italy/Hungary and Australia/Serbia.
- Men's volleyball quarterfinals on Wednesday: Bulgaria/Germany, Poland/Russia, Argentina/Brazil and United States/Italy.
- Men's handball quarterfinals on Wednesday: Iceland/Hungary, Sweden/Denmark, Spain/France and Croatia/Tunisia.
- Women's hockey semifinals on Wednesday: New Zealand/Netherland and Argentina/Great Britain. New Zealand put the smackdown on the US, beating them 7-0 on Monday!
