London 2012: The Countdown Series: Senegal

86 days to go before the first day of the London Olympics. Up next on the parade of nations: Senegal (SEN).

Senegal has participated in the summer Olympics since 1964. Only one medal has been won by a Sengalese athlete in the summer games.

Amadow Dia Ba (pictured) remains to this day the lone Sengalese Olympian to win a medal in the Olympics. He earned the silver after finishing runner up in the men's 400m hurdles (athletics) final at Seoul 1988.

As of now, 25 Sengalese athletes are headed to London, competing in six events, including varous athletics and swimming events, as well as taekwondo and wrestling. The men's football (soccer) team has also qualified for the London games as well.

Up next: Serbia
