Sochi 2014: The Countdown Series: Iran

73 days remaining until the opening ceremonies (72 until the first day of competition) at Sochi 2014. Up next on the countdown: Iran.

Iran made their winter Olympics debut at Cortina d'Ampezzo 1956, and has competed at every winter Olympic games with the exception of Squaw Valley 1960, and from Lake Placid 1980 until Lillehammer 1994. They have sent athletes to the winter games since Nagano 1998. Most of the Iranian contingent in the winter games competed in Alpine events, however no medals were won.

As of now, no participation for Sochi on behalf of Iran, but could change.
