Costa Rica made its winter Olympics debut at Lake Placid 1980, and has had their athletes qualify for every winter game except Lillehammer 1994, Nagano 1998 and Vancouver 2010. These athletes competed mostly in Alpine skiing events, but not one medal was won.
As of now, no Costa Rican has qualified for Sochi, but could change.
