155 days to go until the first day of the London Olympics. Next up on the parade of nations: Ethiopia (ETH).

The nation has participated in the summer Olympics since 1956. 38 medals have been won in these summer Olympics by Ethiopian athletes, mostly in athletics. Of those 38 medals, 18 are gold medals.

There have been six multiple gold medalists from Ethiopia. Kenenisa Bekele (pictured) has the most gold medals among Ethiopian athletes in the summer Olympics at three. He won gold in the men's 5,000m at Beijing 2008, and in the men's 10,000m at Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.

Five Ethopians have won two gold medals each.
  • Abebe Bikila, men's marathon, Rome 1960 and Tokyo 1964
  • Miruts Yifter, men's 5,000m and 10,000m, Moscow 1980
