London 2012: The Countdown Series: Costa Rica

171 days to go until London. Next up on the parade of nations: Costa Rica (CRC).

The country has participated in the summer Olympics since 1936. Their athletes have won four medals, including a gold medal.

To this day, Claudia Poll still remains Costa Rica's lone Olympic gold medalist in any sport. She won gold in the 200m freestyle (swimming) at Atlanta 1996.

As of now-five athletes in three sports, including cycling, taekwondo and athletics.
