Since 2000, the nation has been participating in the summer Olympics. In their prior three summer Olympics, one medal has been won by one of their athletes.
Zersenay Tadese (pictured) won the bronze at Athens 2004 in the men's 10,000m race (athletics), Eritrea's only medal to date.
As of now, 9 athletes will be represented in two sports-cycling and in various athletics events.
