London 2012: The Countdown Series: Chile

176 days to go until first day of the London games. Next on the parade of nations: Chile (CHI).


The nation has participated in the summer Olympics since the first modern Olympics of 1896. It has since won 13 medals by their athletes at these summer games.


ATP veteran Nicolas Massu continues to be the only Chilean to win gold in the Olympics period. He has two medals, both at Athens 2004, in singles and in doubles with Fernando Gonzalez.

As of now, 18 Chilean athletes will be represented in 10 sports at London, including athletics, swimming, road cycling and taekwondo.
