202 days until first business at London. On with the parade of nations (that qualified so far). Next up: Algeria (ALG).
Algeria has participated in the summer Olympics since 1964. The nation earned 14 medals, including 4 gold. The majority of those gold medals were from the athletic events. 13 medalists total earned medals, including the late boxer Hocine Soltani, who won gold in the lightweight at Atlanta and four years earlier, won bronze in the featherweight at Barcelona.
As of now, 16 have qualified for five events. Half will be in an athletic event, once the athletics portion of the Olympics get underway in the final week.
Up next: Andorra.
