Philadelphia 2014 Frozen Four Thursday & Saturday!
The last(?) of the NCAA Division I championships will be awarded Saturday night at Wells Fargo Center (pictured) in Philadelphia.
Four teams making their return to the men's Frozen Four of ice hockey this year, not surprising. The best of the matchups is the next chapter in the Minnesota-North Dakota rivalry that goes back to eons. Fights, tension, you name it. But this one is for the next step to a national title. Minnesota is the top seed overall in the NCAA D-I tournament and won the inaugural B1G hockey tournament in their own backyard last month. North Dakota this year is in the newly formed National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). Still doesn't matter as it is yet again going to be added to their storied rivalry.
Also Boston College takes on Union College, both won their respective conference tournaments this year (BC in Hockey East, while UC in the ECAC).
With that in mind...national semifinals!
National Semifinals
(Twin Cities) Minnesota v (Cincinnati) North Dakota
(Bridgeport) Union College v (Worcester) Boston College
Semifinals on ESPN2 Thursday, championship game on Saturday on ESPN!
