The Shin (pictured) will head to Copenhagen 2014 to represent Georgia with the folksy effort "Three Minutes to Earth."
"Three Minutes to Earth," which is a collaboration between the band and Mariko Ebralidze, is a very folksy tune, that starts off with something similar to the 'yodeling' part of the Roger Pontare song "When Spirits are Calling My Name" from Stockholm 2000. Just about similar. However, this is a very perfect guitar based song that will win voters from throughout Europe when these guys perform in the second semifinal on Thursday the 8th of May, and hopefully they will make the grand final.
With the exception of 3LDRINE (Yes folks, Eldrine stylized as '3LDRINE') "One More Day" from Dusseldorf 2011, I never liked a lot from Georgia in the ESC. I liked the collaboration between Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani from last year with "Waterfall" (co-written by Thomas Gustafsson, the co-writer of Loreen Talhaoui's "Euphoria," which won Baku 2012). Even Sofia Nizharadze's "Shine" from 2010. Other than that, that is it.
Up next: Elaiza "Is It Right?"
