Copenhagen 2014 Reviews: Cristina Scarlat "Wild Soul"

For Moldova in Copenhagen, it is Chisinau-born and raised Cristina Scarlat (pictured) with "Wild Soul."

"Wild Soul" is so boring to my taste. It is too soft and too nocturnal. Also the dubstep element basically killed it. She will perform in the first semifinal on Tuesday, the 6th of May. I got a feeling that she won't qualify for the grand final the following Saturday (the 10th).

What has happened to Moldova in the ESC. Besides Zdob si Zdub (in 2005 and especially 2011 with "So Lucky"-one of my favorite ESC songs ever) and Arsenium ("Loca" in 2006), there have been some very mediocre entries from this country in the ESC, but the last couple of years for this country sucked ass the respective songs should have never reached the final. I'm talking about Pasha Parfeny "Lautar" (2012) and Aliona Moon "O Mie" (2013, co-written by Parfeny), songs that are too boring for my taste that shouldn't make the grand finals respectively. Same as this one. When will Zdob si Zdub come back to excite the fans? I guess Moldova wants a way out of the ESC as soon as possible.

Up next, Sergej Cetkovic "Moj Svijet."
