Copenhagen 2014 Reviews: Tanja Mihhailova "Amazing"

With Bosnia and Herzegovina not coming back for now, and the next three--Bulgaria, Croatia and Cyprus--withdrawing from the event this year, and Denmark as the host nation (which I will save for last), the next in line alphabetically is Estonia. A redhead with Russian roots by the name of Tanja Mihhailova (pictured) will be the Estonian representative in Copenhagen with "Amazing."

"Amazing" lives up to its name for a reason. It's a club track, with a club style similar to Loreen Talhaoui's "Euphoria" (2012) and Cascada's "Glorious" from last year. In the first 58 years of the ESC has seen some very interesting songs, including within over the past decade with songs featuring club/EDM beats (too many to name); most have made the grand final. I like it. I think this will make the grand final on Saturday the 10th of May. She will perform in the first semifinal on Tuesday, the 6th of May.

I've enjoyed a lot from Estonia in the ESC, including Malcolm Lincoln with "Siren" (2010), Tanel Padar and Dave Benton with "Everybody" (the winning song in 2001) and Kreisiraadio with "Leto Svet" (2008), just to name a few. This will rank among the best that Estonia has to offer in ESC. No doubt about it.

Up next: Softengine "Something Better."
