It appears that Greece will once again have another strong effort in ESC, thanks to the duo called Freaky Fortune (pictured) who will head to Copenhagen on behalf of their country, with their song "Rise Up."
"Rise Up"--the duo's collaboration with a rapper by the name of Riskykidd--is an electro-hip-pop combination, the best of that type I've heard in a long time anywhere. As an EDM fan, the beat is just fine. Good vocals, followed by the Riskykidd section of free flowing verses. They will perform on Thursday, the 8th of May, in the second semifinal. Chances are looking good (in my opinion) that they could make it to the grand final on Saturday, the 10th of May.
It is no doubt yet another of the greatness in the history of Greece in the ESC. Of course nothing beats Koza Mostra's "Alcohol is Free" from last year (make no mistake, "Alcohol" was in my opinion, the second greatest ESC song of all time, behind Lordi "Hardrock Hallelujah" of course), the greatest ESC song ever from Greece, joining up with the likes of "Solfege Lesson" (1977) and Antique "Die With You" (2001) among others. We'll see if this song gets positive response from both the juries and the voting public across Europe come second semifinal night.
Up next: Andras Kallay Saunders "Running."
