70 days to go until the first day of the London Olympics. Up next on the parade of nations: Tanzania (TAN).
Tanzania has participated in the summer Olympics since 1964, only two medals have been won by their athletes in the summer games.
Despite no gold to show for, Filbert Bayi (pictured, with tag number 613 on his chest), brought home a silver medal for Tanzania at Moscow 1980, finishing second in the men's 3000m steeplechase (athletics) final.
Also at Moscow 1980, Suleiman Nyambui also brought home silver as he finished runner-up in the men's 5000m (athletics) final. Both silver medals from Nyambui and Bayi the only medals to date in the summer games for Tanzania.
As of now, Tanzania will send four athletes to London to compete in athletics and boxing events.
