83 days to go until the first day of the London Olympics. Up next on the parade of nations: Singapore (SIN).
Singapore has participated in the summer Olympics since 1948. Only two medals have been won by their athletes in the summer games.
Despite no gold medals, Singapore only has two silver medals in the summer games to account for. The first ever medal for Singapore was a silver won by Tan Howe Liang (pictured) at Rome 1960, in the men's lightweight class of weightlifting. Their other medal-also a silver-was earned by the women's team table tennis at Beijing 2008. The team of Feng Tian Wei, Li Jia Wei and Wang Jue Gu lost in the team final to Guo Yue, Wang Nan and Zhang Yining (CHN).
As of now, Singapore will send 16 to London to compete in four events, including various swimming events.
Up next: Slovakia
