Sochi 2014: The Countdown Series: Liechtenstein

62 days remaining until the opening ceremonies (61 until the first day of competition) at Sochi 2014. Up next on the countdown: Liechtenstein.

Liechtenstein made their winter Olympics debut at Garmisch Partenkirchen 1936, and has participated in every winter Olympics game ever since, with the exception of Oslo 1952. Their winter games delegation has garnered nine medals including two gold medals.

Skier Hanni Wenzel (pictured) won two gold medals on the slopes--in both slalom and giant slalom--at Lake Placid 1980. To this day the first and only gold medals for Liechtenstein in the winter games.

As of now, no representation from Liechtenstein for Sochi, but could change.

Up next: Lithuania
