With F.W. de Klerk c. 1994
A freedom fighter despite apartheid (was imprisoned for it), he and F.W. de Klerk were co-leaders of the revived South Africa in 1994. The flag changed, and the flag of South Africa has been in use since then. He has been battling health problems the last couple of years.
Did you know the late Eugene Terreblanche (who was murdered in 2010 by a black farmer), the leader of AWB, tried to block the 1994 elections?
