Sochi 2014: The Countdown Series: Lithuania

61 days remaining until the opening ceremonies (60 until the first day of competition) at Sochi 2014. Up next on the countdown: Lithuania.

Lithuania made their winter Olympics debut at St. Moritz 1928, but after years of being part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, they returned to the Olympic spotlight, beginning at Albertville 1992. They have been at every winter Olympic game since then. Most of their winter Olympics contingent competed mostly in biathlon and cross country events, though no medals were won.

Eight quota spots for Lithuania at Sochi, including in biathlon, cross country and short track speed skating.

Up next: Luxembourg
