Weekend Oddities 2.21.11

Some shit to ponder over from the weekend...

F1 Bahrain race could be cancelled, due to the unrest there. That's what Bernie said!

Speaking of motorsport...

The Wood Brothers are back!? Does it remind you of 1976?

Oh, and to those PTI morons who said this race was fixed for Junior (he crashed late)? Fix this! I'm happy, even though I got a little disgusted when Ragan got penalized. The race was awful with 16 cautions, typical of the fare you'd normally see at Bristol or Martinsville. Also reminded me of the '05 Coca-Cola World 600 where there were 22 cautions! For the record, 30 million tuned in to the Fox broadcast, though I really hated that they still had time to interview Gilliland and the younger Labonte, instead interviewing Junior and the younger Busch.

On the sport front, another monumental weekend. Heritage Classic where the Flames shut out the Habs 4-0, despite some delays to the ice (and I missed the rest of the game due to cold readings that night for "Big Love"!).

The game was played at McMahon Stadium, home football stadium of the University of Calgary and the CFL's Calgary Stampeders. Even though the delays for ice problems, I still think the atmosphere at McMahon was better than in Pittsburgh.

Also, the slam dunk competition...Blake Griffin over a KIA!

And speaking of All-Star weekend, Justin Bieber was MVP in some celebrity game, despite getting booed at MSG (good) and snubbed at the Grammy's (good!). And after all of that, he got the CSI treatment he DESERVED.

Suck on it Beliebers!
Suck it long and suck it hard!
