Looking Back: Ten Years Ago Today.

A big, yet sad moment in the world of motorsport. As most of you know, this man, 7 time Winston Cup champion Ralph Dale Earnhardt Sr. (his 1980 championship ride pictured) was killed on the last lap of the Daytona 500, ten years ago today.

Dale would've been 59 (he would turn 60 in April) at the present time if living. This, like other motorsport deaths (Ayrton Senna, Greg Moore, Neil Bonnett to name a few) is just the nature of the motorsport industry goes. Since then, safety has improved in virtually all disciplines of motorsport worldwide.
