SIBERIA Episode 2 Review: Too Much is Too Much

If you want to avoid the spoilers don't read. Otherwise, please scroll down in...

Three...

Two...

One!

The second episode ever of SIBERIA was just as intense as the first. Everything on the compound came to a screeching halt after the announcement of Tommy's murder from last episode. All of the sadness on the faces on the remaining members of the compound along with the communication amongst each other was too much for George.

As Jonathon Buckley, the presenter, came over to discuss the 'death' of Tommy, he was calling out anyone who think that the competition was too much for him or her to withdraw. And the only one to do so was George. George thought it was too much to continue after Tommy's death, so he voluntarily withdrew. A helicopter was waiting, and he left the compound. George, an accountant and father of two from Louisville, will pocket a cool $5,000, enough to pay off his bills.

Thus leaves 12 left. Everyone began to look for clues regarding Tommy's death, including blood, presumably that of Tommy's, along with a footprint. Perhaps that of an animal? Nope, I think that footprint is not of an animal's, but possibly a sign of a cult or tribe of people. Hence, Tommy's killer could be a human. Various clues followed, including a snake, believed to be poisonous, found inside the siren box.

Perhaps the ones that were heavily involved in the investigation were Daniel and Johnny, especially Johnny, who wanted everyone else to back off from the food shed full of fruits and vegetables. Sorry folks, there was no vodka. Lots of conflicts within the remaining members, of course. Back over by the cabin, when Johnny was chopping something with an axe, the axe hit a piece of his finger. He would have a bandage heavily on his finger before he fainted. He would later go back to the cabin with his forehead wrapped as well.

Whilst Johnny was recovering, something strange took place on the compound. It all started on a campfire when some of the ladies were picking mushrooms. Remember, those mushrooms could be poisonous or deadly, but some could carry 1000 points or a '1UP' as in the Super Mario Bros. series. Unlike the Mario games, these real mushrooms were poisonous. It seemed that Esther might have fed the wrong mushrooms to Victoria! This was basically the end of Victoria's run there.

Hours after her digestion of the mushrooms, Victoria started to itch, and then started to panic. The rest of the guys motioned for help, including Miljan, who was brilliant by telling the rest that if you guys want Victoria to stay alive, move her down to the line so help can be there. She was later rushed back inside the cabin to her bed. The next morning, she wasn't awake. At first I thought she was dead, but no! She woke up. It was Neeko who would spread the news that she would follow in George's footsteps regarding the withdrawal process. But did Victoria actually withdraw? Who knows what's going to happen in the next episode!

One more thing, as she is preparing for her farewell from the compound, Victoria left us with one memorable quote...

Just as corny as Dana's "Somebody here is a murderer" quote from the first episode of Whodunnit?.

As for the scorecard...

15. Harpreet (slowest in cabin race)
(tie) Berglind (slowest in cabin race)
14. Tommy (murdered?)
13. George (voluntary withdrawal-$5,000)
12. Victoria (voluntary withdrawal due to illness?)

Remaining: Miljan, Neeko, Johnny, Esther, Sabina, Carolina, Irene, Anne Marie, Sam, Daniel, Natalie
