BELLATOR MMA 97: Two Title Fights & Two Tournament Finals

The final BELLATOR MMA Summer Series event of 2013 concludes with an epic SPIKE card, as two titles are on the line, and two tournament finals as well.

The co-main event features two title defenses. Two tournament finals will take place tonight. In the heavyweight final, Vitaly Minakov will take on Ryan Martinez and in the light heavyweight final, it will be Mo Lawal against Jacob Noe. Title shots on the line. Lawal recently did color commentary (along with Julie Kedzie) for INVICTA 6 on Pay Per View a few weeks ago, where Cris 'Cyborg' Santos destroyed Marloes Coenen to the fourth and became new INVICTA champion.

Also Patricio 'Pitbull' Freire is back in action as well.

SIBERIA Episode 4 Review: The Producers

If you haven't seen the episode, don't read this review. If you have, scroll down in...

Two...

One!

No, it's nothing to do with the musical, but this was basically the theme of the most recent episode of SIBERIA.

After being bumped a week due to NBC News coverage on the lame-ass Royal baby birth, it's back to business. And an explosive one at that. It all starts when it is morning, and Daniel wakes up. There he is about to leave the door and there is a spear at the door, with a message in Cyrillic translating into English as 'get out.' So it meant that someone or something is sending a message to those left on the compound.

Then the lake scene with once again, Esther topless, talking to a voice whose face is blurred out, revealing that the accent could have been that of Miljan's. It even gets strange. Esther then reveals a blackmail scheme the producers told to her about, whilst chatting with Miljan in the cabin. Just as you thought it even got more strange: Miljan and Esther got a little physical. I was hoping as they went to break that Miljan would put Esther in the Iron Sheik camel clutch, break her back and make her humble. No, Miljan was actually playing and Esther was unaware and she stormed out of there in typical jabroni fashion.

There was even more conflict between the remaining guests on the compound, especially between Johnny and Carolina. Johnny was being warned by Carolina not to leave the grounds for a certain reason. Also, Natalie was fearing that something was going after her too. Plenty of conflict among a lot of conflict on the grounds.

And then, the inevitable happened. Green skies! I assumed that this could be a UFO containing aliens from another planet. Everyone remaining on the grounds were scared! They must assume these aliens might land nearby and scour the grounds, assimilating them and draining out their souls. As morning passed, it seemed the green skies got to both Johnny and Carolina. Carolina came back to the grounds bleeding in the mid section and collapsed. Johnny got disoriented. The rest turned on Johnny claiming that they believe Carolina. I think Carolina pulled a false alarm! These aliens drained their souls!

After the coast was clear, and both recovered from their night encounter, another morning passed. Miljan scoured in the forest. He talked to an invisible tree branch. I'm thinking this branch could contain something sacred in it. If a female probably touched it, she would have possibly been pregnant. Funny scene. Later he discovered two symbols etched on two different trees, as well as a book written in Cyrillic. He kept reading and reading it, despite something lurking behind him.

Finally, the biggest shocker of the episode, when they all gathered in front of the cabin, and Carolina with the biggest shock of them all: it's all about the producers and what they want. Shocking. I won't go that much further into that, but do a little research into what she said at the end of the episode.

Miljan in this episode is like Cris in the past couple episodes of Whodunnit?. Cris was valuable in those two episodes of Whodunnit?, while Miljan was virtually the MVP of this episode of SIBERIA. It will be interesting where their discoveries on their respective shows go these next few weeks. As for the last two episodes of SIBERIA, 11 are still left, as indicated on the scorecard:

ELIMINATED
15. Harpreet (slowest in flag race)
(tie) Berglind (slowest in flag race)
14. Tommy (murdered)
13. George (withdrew)
12. Victoria (withdrew)

Remaining: Miljan, Esther, Carolina, Johnny, Natalie, Neeko, Daniel, Sam, Sabina, Irene, Annie.

Shit is gonna hit the fan these next episodes...

One...

The game now becomes a three on three affair, now that Sasha and Dana were immortalized. How did they both die. Both were sleep, suffocated, slit, froze in the morgue and placed there by the piano.

There were footprints by both rooms. It seemed the footprints matched a particular shoe, possibly a dress shoe, like Bruno Magli. I'm assuming the killer wore those shoes (O.J. Simpson reference). In the re-enactment, the killer is also wearing a hoodie. Trayvon Martin supporter, perhaps? And other clues appeared including notes in the piano and the piano seating and a way to open the bedroom door.

Giles took the remaining six to the underground cinema, where they are met with replica wax figures. A film in black and white was shown, which included valuable clues. The remaining guests later tore down the figurines. All of the guests did, except Cris, who found a way to guess what? A second morgue! Good work Cris! This second morgue was located behind a door where the chemicals and scalpels are located. Cris pushed it out and voila! A secret opening! This second morgue is where Cris found a hunter knife. The scalpel and hunter knife were both used on Sasha and Dana to drain the blood out. Both were slit in the wrists, like what emos do when they are frustrated.

Cris was truly the MVP of the night, even though I'm skeptical. She might be an agent for a mafia or organized criminal gang just to betray the other guests. Either that, or she might had a relationship within the criminal community, and that she is being used as their plot of power. I'm also skeptical about both morgues in Rue Manor. I'm certain the original proprietor must have been a former county medical examiner and was using the space below in case the bodies at the main location overflow, that the Rue Manor morgues would be backup.

At dinner, Giles announced that Kam was the first to be spared. But when it came to the 'scared,' it was Geno and Ronnie who got the 'scared' cards of the night. Then Giles would announce that there would be no one dead tonight, and everyone would relax by getting 'laid.' Not what you people want to see, but a different spelling. Try 'lei's.' A Hawaiian Luau!

Later that night, the Hawaiian luau on the living room lobby. Giles made the night, not only dancing to the music at the beginning, but also limboing. I was hoping he'd jump over the stick Javier Sotomayor style as if he's trying out for the IAAF World Championships in Athletics in a few weeks in Moscow.

And with Hawaiian luaus, a pig would be roasted. In the WHODUNNIT? universe, someone is about to be roasted. Not exactly. No one was cooked, but when the lights went out whilst having fun, everyone got scared. Something dropped on the floor, and it was a chandelier! The chandelier not only hit the floor, but also collected Geno in the process. Geno was knocked the fuck out like Ivan Drago did to Apollo Creed in Rocky IV. Remember what Drago said after the knockout win?

Someone cut a chandelier cord onto Geno! Poor Geno. It's now down to five, with about three episodes left. I wouldn't be surprised if it comes down to Giles and the killer mano-e-mano on the finale. Great for TV, and would be even greater if AK47 assault rifles and M83's would be involved. It's like watching a film from the glorious days of Cannon Films, especially with Charles Bronson and Chuck Norris in it.

As for the scorecard...

ELIMINATED
13. Sheri (blunt force trauma, electrocution)
12. Dontae (third degree burns)
11. Adrianna (cart explosion)
10. Don (mauled by puma)
9. Ulysses (fatal horse fall)
8. Sasha (stabbed, immortalized)
(tie) Dana (stabbed, immortalized)
6. Geno (blunt force trauma via chandelier)

Remaining: Cris, Lindsey, Melina, Ronnie, Kam

NOTE: next Sunday night's episode is competing with worthless NFL preseason football.

Friday Jukebox 7.26.13

The band A Flock of Seagulls has been in the news lately, for the wrong things. It seems that $70,000 worth of their equipment was stolen overnight, and the thief (or thieves) ran away; they ran so far away. Hence, "I Ran" is the subject of this week's FJ. From their 1982 self-titled album.

As for the thievery, there is surveillance proof:

SIBERIA 7/22 (Episode 4), Pushed to 7/29.

I was going to review the episode, however the episode that was supposed to air Monday night, due to some NBC News special, is pushed to this upcoming Monday (7/29).

Sadly, Under the Dome gained a few more viewers, and probably outperformed a shitty show on ABC called Mistresses. Both probably out-performed RAW, you know.

One...

I joined this one already in progress after El Salvador/Costa Rica Copa Oro 2013 semifinal. Good match nonetheless.

The remaining eight picked up the pieces trying to decipher how Ulysses fell off his horse. A makeshift morgue containing a body bag and Ulysses' body was on the farm. Also, the stables had some interesting stuff in there. I'm not sure if there could have been drugs stashed in there, or even drugs to help enhance the performance of the horse (regardless if those horses are thoroughbred or not), which I think is a no-no by organizations like NTRA (thoroughbred racing).

It gets even deeper or deeper. A snake was discovered, and Sasha was probably the first to state the snake's containment of a poisonous venom. This snake got into Ulysses' pants, and was probably aiming for his genitals. Sasha's description of the snake is reminiscent of Miljan's 'tiger' comment on the most recent episode of SIBERIA ("Tigers can't be dangerous. It is a big cat."). Ulysses' jeans he had on at the time of his 'death' only had evidence of dirt, but nothing containing a snake bite (I might have to watch that scene again).

It's lunchtime and everyone is munching on a sack lunch, with sandwich, water, chips and apple. I tweeted that "those sandwiches looked good and better than Subway." Giles responded saying that "the toast was burnt and the meat and cheese was moldy." Anything is better than hallucinated mushrooms, right Esther? (another random Siberia reference). At that time, both Kam and Geno were arguing about something. I was hoping they would fight, for good television. Or better yet, Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions should put these two on the Floyd/Canelo card on September 14.

Then there's a race to help find a clue. The eight had to decipher a puzzle, then run into a room full of snakes. Of everyone there, Kam found it the fastest. Dana described the puzzle as 'satanic.' Quote of the night.

It's nighttime, and a campfire is there. No one's jacket was used (once again, another subtle Siberia reference to Neeko in the most recent episode), while Giles arrived. He first announces the first spared contestant: Cris. Why did I oppose this movement? Cris to me is lying for a reason and miscommunicating between her team and the others. Kam also got a verbal spared notice from Cris. With that in mind, only six left and two 'scared' cards to be handed out.

The first of those 'scared' cards went to Sasha. Not surprising, because she actually pointed out to the rest of her team regarding the snake. But wait there's more. The other 'scared' card went to Dana (again). And that's it. Not. You wouldn't believe there would be a third 'scared' card, right? And it went to Geno! So therefore a first! Not one, not two, but three 'scared' cards! A chance that two or three could be 'killed' off soon.

The next day, noise on the first floor of the manor prompted Geno to wake up, and it discovered that the noise came from a piano-or was it? And there was Sasha, playing the piano and Dana standing next to it. Both immortalized in wax, and could possibly bypass the morgue for an exhibit at Madame Tussaud's. Watching the promo for the next episode, there could be more. This is a nine-episode series, with four more to go. Could the remaining six survive? Could Giles and the maid survive? Or did an invisible spirit from the sky containing the voice of Victoria (Siberia) warn the remaining people in the manor?

As for Dana and Sasha, the movies Waxwork and Waxwork II: Lost in Time come to mind.

With that in mind, I can expect this for next Sunday:

"TONIGHT on the ABC Sunday Night Movie. Two women have been immortalized into wax and the remaining guests on a manor are trying to survive before they turn into one.

Gildart Jackson stars in WAXWORK III: No Longer on Earth. Next."

As for the scorecard:

ELIMINATED:
13. Sheri (blunt force trauma, electrocution)
12. Dontae (third degree burns)
11. Adrianna (cart explosion)
10. Don (mauled by puma)
9. Ulysses (fatal horse fall)
8. Sasha (immortalized into wax figure)
(tie) Dana (immortalized into wax figure)

Remaining: Melina, Cris, Geno, Kam, Ronnie, Lindsey

The US women will begin play that day as the reigning Olympic gold medalists (with various changes on the roster) will take on Greece in group play. The men will begin play on Monday, as they take on Croatia. The groups for water polo play this year is as follows:

Here in the states, Universal Sports will have coverage of all the action for the two weeks. Sadly, it will be on tape. It should be streamed live on their site. NBC will have some action as well, but it will be for swimming only, beginning next Sunday (7/28), as well as Saturday (8/3) and Sunday (8/4). All on tape delay. I would also suggest bcn2013.com, the official site, for your timing and scoring needs.

SIBERIA Episode 3 Review: Venison Anyone?

If you haven't seen the episode avoid this. If you have, read my review starting in...

Three...

Two...

One...

On the previous episode, Victoria bid farewell to her fellow mates by giving her a stern warning: "You guys are all going to die." From there on, this could be the dilemma facing the remaining eleven.

The episode started off with everyone jumping in the lake. Johnny first, then Carolina. Just about everyone else jumped in, including Esther, whose boobs were blurred out (remember, it's NBC, not Showtime or HBO). Irene and Daniel refused to join them, as well as Neeko, who pointed out that the rest needed to focus on their tasks at hand.

Neeko, along with Johnny and Sam would have food conflicts that would be addressed throughout the episode, but it was the pantry fire that ruined everything. Everyone spotted a fire and they realized, the pantry was burnt down. Towards the end of the episode, a camera caught Carolina as the perpetrator of the fire as a message to send to the rest about the food conflict.

The horn would sound, therefore the clue is at the box. Well, well, well. It's none other than some bows and arrows for hunting. I'm not sure what brand are those bows the cast was using. It could be Mathews or Bowtech. Archery was Irene's strong point, but after being considered, alas, a deer was shot down. Venison anyone? It was also interesting that Neeko's jacket was also used to help with the cooking of the venison. Neeko even got some substance on his shirt as well.

Then the terrifying happens. A couple of the cast ran back to the cabin and described what they saw: a tiger! After various discussions, Miljan came up with the most brilliant response of them all: "A tiger can be dangerous. It's a big cat." Yep, best quote of the night.

Towards the end of the episode, Johnny disagreed with a plan, in which he walked away from the rest of the group. Also, the last scene of the episode. Was that Johnny's body or the tiger's? It seemed to me Johnny is dead. We'll see in the next episode.

The hunting scene is interesting. Remember, real hunters wear camo. Irene and Daniel (I think) never wore camo. Neither did Johnny or the rest. To me, when you hunt in the woods, camo is mandatory, considering that deer and other wildlife are attractive to regular clothing, so I wished everyone wore camo. Mossy Oak, Realtree, any camo is appropriate for hunting. And no, I haven't hunt.

As for the scorecard...

ELIMINATED
15. Harpreet (flag race elimination)
(tie) Berglind (flag race elimination)
14. Tommy (murdered)
13. George (withdrew)
12. Victoria (withdrew)

UNKNOWN
11. Johnny

Remaining: Miljan, Esther, Carolina, Irene, Anne Marie, Daniel, Neeko, Sam, Sabina, Natalie. Again, Johnny is a maybe.

Whodunnit? Episode 4 Review: Not a Horse of a Chance!

For those who haven't seen the episode, do not read the following review. If you want to proceed, then do so in....

Three...

Two...

One...

As the remaining guests pieced together how Don was mauled by the puma.  He didn't like his T-bone medium rare, so he went to the kitchen. When Don cooked the T-bone, arsenic smells began to trigger from the kitchen grill. Don got some of it, and it continued to spread throughout the kitchen. It passed through a seam in a hatch door where a puma came through. It was from there, Don was mauled to death. Giles would later shoot the puma.

As the remaining nine split into three groups, the kitchen was full of blood that was Don's. Also, his body had paw prints from the puma which makes me believe these two things: the puma sexually assaulted Don, and the puma might have contained the HIV virus. At the in-manor morgue, I see that there was all blood on the back of his ass, but no seminal fluid, especially from the puma. Animals can rape humans you know.

Various messages were hidden all over the place, including one that Giles originally read, where I think based upon its size, originated from a fortune cookie. Don't know if it had any lottery numbers on the other side. Another was this tiny message on this periodic table.

Once again, more friction. As Geno, Ronnie and Dana were more valuable this time, there were more harm toward Cris (I think). But it was at the dinner table where it counts. Now keep in mind, if you watched Siberia last Monday, George withdrew and took home $5,000 after Tommy was 'killed' off. So I was assuming that Dana would tell her mates the same thing, especially the last two episodes where she got the 'scared' card. Apparently, somebody talked her into continuing her quest for $250k. And after ducking the 'scared' card in back to back weeks, Giles announced that Dana was spared and will get to live another week.

Now onto the card distribution. I was hoping a woman would be killed off and that woman would be Cris, considering the pattern: Sheri, Dontae, Adrianna, and Don. As the remaining eight (sans Dana) unveiled their cards, it was a shock. First it was Ulysses that received a 'scared' card, then it was Kam. I was hoping Cris would, but her card said 'spared.' So it was down to the two attorneys.

The next morning, Giles and all the guests rode on horses on the farm. However it was the horse that Ulysses was on which lost control. Both the horse and Ulysses barreled down a hill and both fell. The horse is probably dead, but Ulysses, a practicing attorney, is dead as well. Remember, he's a popular contestant-among the slags. He was trying too hard to attempt to qualify for equestrian or modern pentathlon for Rio 2016. Thus, in ice hockey terminology, this is a two-man advantage for the women.

I see on the promo, a snake is gonna go after something or someone...hmmm....

As for the scorecard...

ELIMINATED
13. Sheri (blunt force trauma; electrocution)
12. Dontae (third degree burns)
11. Adrianna (cart explosion)
10. Don (mauled by puma)
9. Ulysses (fatal horse fall)

Remaining: Dana, Geno, Ronnie, Kam, Cris, Lindsey, Melina, Sasha

SIBERIA Episode 2 Review: Too Much is Too Much

If you want to avoid the spoilers don't read. Otherwise, please scroll down in...

Two...

One!

The second episode ever of SIBERIA was just as intense as the first. Everything on the compound came to a screeching halt after the announcement of Tommy's murder from last episode. All of the sadness on the faces on the remaining members of the compound along with the communication amongst each other was too much for George.

As Jonathon Buckley, the presenter, came over to discuss the 'death' of Tommy, he was calling out anyone who think that the competition was too much for him or her to withdraw. And the only one to do so was George. George thought it was too much to continue after Tommy's death, so he voluntarily withdrew. A helicopter was waiting, and he left the compound. George, an accountant and father of two from Louisville, will pocket a cool $5,000, enough to pay off his bills.

Thus leaves 12 left. Everyone began to look for clues regarding Tommy's death, including blood, presumably that of Tommy's, along with a footprint. Perhaps that of an animal? Nope, I think that footprint is not of an animal's, but possibly a sign of a cult or tribe of people. Hence, Tommy's killer could be a human. Various clues followed, including a snake, believed to be poisonous, found inside the siren box.

Perhaps the ones that were heavily involved in the investigation were Daniel and Johnny, especially Johnny, who wanted everyone else to back off from the food shed full of fruits and vegetables. Sorry folks, there was no vodka. Lots of conflicts within the remaining members, of course. Back over by the cabin, when Johnny was chopping something with an axe, the axe hit a piece of his finger. He would have a bandage heavily on his finger before he fainted. He would later go back to the cabin with his forehead wrapped as well.

Whilst Johnny was recovering, something strange took place on the compound. It all started on a campfire when some of the ladies were picking mushrooms. Remember, those mushrooms could be poisonous or deadly, but some could carry 1000 points or a '1UP' as in the Super Mario Bros. series. Unlike the Mario games, these real mushrooms were poisonous. It seemed that Esther might have fed the wrong mushrooms to Victoria! This was basically the end of Victoria's run there.

Hours after her digestion of the mushrooms, Victoria started to itch, and then started to panic. The rest of the guys motioned for help, including Miljan, who was brilliant by telling the rest that if you guys want Victoria to stay alive, move her down to the line so help can be there. She was later rushed back inside the cabin to her bed. The next morning, she wasn't awake. At first I thought she was dead, but no! She woke up. It was Neeko who would spread the news that she would follow in George's footsteps regarding the withdrawal process. But did Victoria actually withdraw? Who knows what's going to happen in the next episode!

One more thing, as she is preparing for her farewell from the compound, Victoria left us with one memorable quote...

Just as corny as Dana's "Somebody here is a murderer" quote from the first episode of Whodunnit?.

As for the scorecard...

15. Harpreet (slowest in cabin race)
(tie) Berglind (slowest in cabin race)
14. Tommy (murdered?)
13. George (voluntary withdrawal-$5,000)
12. Victoria (voluntary withdrawal due to illness?)

Remaining: Miljan, Neeko, Johnny, Esther, Sabina, Carolina, Irene, Anne Marie, Sam, Daniel, Natalie

Whodunnit? Episode 3 Review: Don Tar-Tar

For those who want to ignore the spoilers. Prepare for the review in...

Three...

Two...

One!

This third episode of Whodunnit? explores the explosion that killed Adrianna, which led to two former 'scared' card holders picking up another 'scared' card.

It all started with the investigation of Adrianna's death, where she tried to leave the premises on a golf cart. Being so fit for her age she had to hustle, but the spot she 'had' to meet with this person is where she and the cart exploded. Adrianna's body flew to a tree, while the cart was on fire. In my previous review for the second episode, it seemed as if she was trying to imitate the cart scene from Jackass: The Movie. Wrong.

At first it was a land mine, but it was discovered that this killer probably placed a land mine there. A remote control was discovered-it could have been placed there by the killer-on Adrianna's left hand. It even gets intriguing, as I believe some invisible spirit dragged her and lured her and that was her ultimate demise.

Giles mentioned that Adrianna was watching 'reality TV.' Not true, she was probably originally watching the Spain-Tahiti FIFA Confederations Cup match. Once disappointed by Tahiti's efforts, she probably switched back to Rock of Love. She also had a bowl of Multi-Grain Cheerios in her hand, and dropped it. All that was discovered while the remaining guests were investigating.

But wait, there was more. Giles unleashed a clue. This clue was a bomb which split into half, and ten golf balls were inside, along with a message. I would have thought Tiger Woods would be the killer, considering the golf balls are in there. Don't know if they're Nike balls, since Woods is signed with Nike.

Also there were other clues. The tapes, which were found in the trash, as well as the monitors and surveillance equipment, especially the surveillance that captured the cart explosion. The tapes were very interesting, because I was thinking, "one of those tapes could have porn, and another could have a sex tape." Neither were discovered by the remaining guests. Kam had one of those tapes in his hand. I was thinking, "Kam, you know you want to pop it in because it has some porno on it!" I was also hoping a sex tape would be discovered amongst the tapes. Sex tapes are huge in such an investigation, you know. Also the monitors displaying the messages from the tapes. You all should be glad a 'dragon' never popped up in one of those tapes, Tic-Tac-Dough style:

As the investigation got deeper, alliances were beginning to form, and I was thinking, one could have had a complete 360 heel turn, pro wrestling style. Keep in mind, the episode aired last night here in the states on ABC, the 17th anniversary of Hulk Hogan joining the nWo; truly the greatest heel turn in the history of professional wrestling. It was at Bash at the Beach 1996 live on Pay Per View:

Finally all of the friction during the investigation lead to even more shocking stuff at the dinner table. Sizzling steak fajitas were on the menu. I would have thought Lindsey was scared. Nope. Giles said she was spared. As the remaining ten unveil their cards. I wouldn't believe two former 'scared' card holders-Dana and Don-would be the ones getting the 'scared' cards again. In fact, they both did. I was hoping it would be Kam and Lindsey. Again, the wrong people got the 'scared' cards.

Breakfast time. Steak and eggs on the menu. Everyone arrived. Dana came in late, and so did Don. I was hoping nothing happened to both. The exception: everyone's steaks were well done, except the steaks of both Dana and Don. Don went to the kitchen. A door in the kitchen was the perfect opening for a cougar. Don was in the kitchen and voila, the cougar presumably mauled him. Don, a former private investigator and the oldest of the guests on the manor, is the fourth 'fatality' on the manor. As for Dana, a second consecutive week she has ducked the killer. Who knows where that cougar came from? It will be interesting where this will go the next few Sunday nights.

At the end of the closing credits sequence, Adrianna discussed the cart explosion. It seems something out of the TV show Jackass. In that position on the tree, burnt from the explosion. She could have introduced herself: "I'm Adrianna Iwasinski. Welcome to Jackass." Then cue "Corona" by the Minutemen.

As for the scorecard:

ELIMINATED:
13. Sheri (electrocution, blunt force trauma)
12. Dontae (third degree burns)
11. Adrianna (fatal cart explosion)
10. Don (mauled by cougar)

Remaining: Dana, Lindsey, Sasha, Geno, Kam, Ulysses, Ronnie, Cris, Melina

Friday Jukebox 7.5.13: A Small Tribute to Bobby 'Blue' Bland

Two weeks ago, Bobby 'Blue' Bland passed away at the age of 83. He had numerous exquisite masterpieces, including this gem, "Ain't no Love in the Heart of the City," from the 1974 LP album Dreamer. The band Whitesnake would later cover this gem on a live album of theirs. Just recently, a Jay-Z track used samples from this tune (produced by the idiot Kanye West). Apparently, the instrumental from that Jay-Z song was used recently in a Chrysler 'Imported from Detroit' ad.

SIBERIA Episode One Review: Somebody Here is Tommy's Murderer!

This could contain possible spoilers, and just like my WHODUNNIT? reviews, if you don't want to read this review for SIBERIA, go somewhere else.

For the rest who are interested, here we go in...

One!

After seeing the promos for SIBERIA on NBC, I decided to give it a try. This has a SURVIVOR feel, because of the atmosphere and the show's intros. Frankly, I haven't seen Survivor in eons, so why not?

Sixteen contestants--eight men and eight women--flew in via helicopter from London. This cast, representing eight countries, were blindfolded, not knowing where they would land. Voila! As they took off their blindfolds, they are on a grassy land surrounded by the abundance of forests. They don't realize, these guys were in northern Russia.

The first task of the 16 contestants: race to the cabin with flags. Sixteen started, but fourteen remained. It appeared that one of the contestants threw a flag to the ground, making it hard for Berglind, a photojournalist from Reykjavik, and Harpreet, a graduate student from Washington, DC, to find it. It took them a lot of time, and as a result, both were eliminated. I'm assuming sabotage played a role considering someone abandoned a flag. This means somebody in the cabin is going to die!

Days and nights followed, and the remaining fourteen found frogs and mushrooms. I was hoping someone cooked the frog on the makeshift campfire. I was also very skeptical about the mushrooms, whether or not they are poisonous. I tweeted that those mushrooms could contain a value of either '1000 points or a 1UP.' In other words, the Super Mario Bros. series of games were on my mind once I saw the mushrooms.

There were lots of friction inside the cabin at the midpoint of the episode, typical of the reality show genre. A clue was discovered where a horn sounded. However, it was later on where a penultimate fate is about to happen to one of their own. It all started when a cameraman had blood on his face, and from there on, it was a dark atmosphere. The announcement that Tommy, a philanthropist from Boston, was killed. Thirteen remaining for the next episode.

So was the flag thing with Berglind and Harpreet intentional? Could they--based on their early elimination from the flag race--be suspiciously accused of Tommy's murder? Or did the Whodunnit? killer cross networks and struck his/her first victim--on NBC? So many leads after this very first episode of SIBERIA. Keep watching the next few Mondays.

Sam the Brooklynite gets my quote of the night: "When you get hungry, you get mad!"

And as Dana, the cardiac nurse, from Whodunnit? said after Sheri's death in the first episode: "Somebody here is a murderer!"

As for the scorecard:

ELIMINATED:
15. Harpreet (flag race elimination)
(tie) Berglind (flag race elimination)
14. Tommy (murdered?)

Remaining: Miljan, Sam, George, Sabina, Carolina, Irene, Daniel, Anne Marie, Victoria, Johnny, Neeko, Esther, Natalie

In Soviet Russia, NBC's SIBERIA Watches You! Tonight!

Nothing to do with Yakov Smirnoff, but we're treated to another reality show that is 'not' reality.

SIBERIA (the 'R' is backwards in the NBC promo) boasts eight men and eight women, a diverse field that includes a rugby player, a bull rider, a DJ, sales clerk and graphic artist among others; representing the United States, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Iceland, Montenegro, Taipei, Colombia and Israel. One of the cast members is from New Orleans. A stellar global representation on a reality show is good and gets those who hate the genre to appreciate the casting done for the show.

It's like survival of the fittest, all set in the rugged terrains of the Siberia region of Russia. In the spirit of Whodunnit?, will we see a fake 'fatality' amongst the cast? NBC tonight at 9pm Central.

Whodunnit? Episode 2 Review: Anchor Aweigh!

One!

On Saturday night, Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin turned Matt Macklin into a 'good boy.' On Sunday night, the killer in the second Whodunnit? episode eventually turned another guest into a 'good boy'--or shall I say--'good girl'!

As you may see, another guest in the mansion has 'perished.' But it all starts with the investigation into Dontae's charbroiling, precipitated when he touched a door in which it was possibly ignited by a flammable substance, causing Dontae to run in flames towards the pool. Thus he cooled off, but Giles declared to the remaining 11, that Dontae died of third degree burns. And so the investigation proceeded. Groups of three or four were split once again, and there was friction. The main friction was between Kam, Dana, Adrianna, Ulysses and Sasha. Ulysses at first didn't want to include Sasha or Adrianna because they probably had good evidence to support to them, thus the suspicion of Ulysses as a killer (could be a probability).

Lots of clues were found leading to Dontae's demise, including a flag with a message and the crest of the manor, depicted on a flag which was revealed with a spray of butane. Also the pendant. Could a female guest secretly give Dontae that gift? That was on my mind when I saw that. The pajamas could also cause some sort of spontaneous combustion to the body, because clothing could cause fires you know, and could do so if the body temperature reaches around 120 degrees (Fahrenheit). All of which lead to Dontae's body, char-broiled like a Carl's Jr. burger. This episode should have been sponsored by Kingsford, which is fitting because this is a big week here in the states for cookouts!

So, with that in mind, at the dinner table is the remaining 11 and Giles. Giles shockingly told Ulysses that he's spared, resulting in the pretty boy living another day (pissed me off). To add insult to injury, Giles also announced that Kam was spared as well. Only nine left, but two would pull a 'scared' card. The first was Dana, and she cried so hard. The other was between Melina and Adrianna. I was hoping Melina would get it, but Adrianna would also draw the 'scared' card, which only leads to one of the demises of the two southern belles.

Late night, Dana was reading the Bible and praying that the killer doesn't strike her. However, it appears an invisible spirit drew Adrianna from her room. She was eating a bowl of cereal and dropped it. This invisible spirit chased Adrianna from her room where she tried to escape the property by driving a golf cart out. Sadly the path that she tried to escape was derailed when she eventually ran into what is believed to be a land mine. It exploded, sending Adrianna flying from the cart. Adrianna, an anchor-reporter at KWTV (CBS) Oklahoma City, is the third to 'perish' from the property, resulting in ten guests left. Five men, five women, even strength Whodunnit?, just like an ice hockey match.

Adrianna's demise reminded me of this scene from the carting scene from the first Jackass movie:

I think the land mines were actually planted there. Perhaps someone wanted Adrianna dead simply because it is an ABC show, and she works for a CBS affiliate. Could the killer work for NBC or Fox? Who knows? Keep watching the next few Sundays!

As for the scorecard...

ELIMINATED
13. Sheri (electrocution, blunt force trauma)
12. Dontae (third degree burns)
11. Adrianna (explosion)

Remaining: Dana, Cris, Geno, Don, Lindsey, Ronnie, Ulysses, Kam, Sasha, Melina

Some of y'all remember this from WWF Superstars in the spring of 1993, the plastic cast attack on the late Brian 'Crush' Adams, formerly of WWF tag team champions Demolition and would later go to WCW as one half of KroniK:
