50 days to go until the first day of the London Olympics. Up next on the parade of nations: Zambia (ZAM).
Zambia has participated in the summer Olympics since 1964; only two medals have been won by Zambian athletes in the summer games.
Despite not one gold medal to show for, Zambia scored its first medal, when boxer Keith Mwila earned the bronze-one of two awarded-for tying for third place in the light-flyweight category of boxing at Los Angeles 1984.
The most recent medal for Zambia came at Atlanta 1996, when Samuele Matete (pictured) finished runner up in the men's 400m hurdles final. The first and only silver medal for Zambia.
As of now, three Zambians are headed to London and will compete in athletics, boxing and judo events.
Up next: Zimbabwe
