The Cats, despite losing Gary Ablett Jr. to the expansion Gold Coast club, have a new coach starting off his tenure at 2-0 early in this premiership season. The Cats are one of five unbeatens currently in the AFL after round 2 (West Coast, Adelaide, Collingwood, Sydney are the others). Port is also starting from scratch with a new coach, and the wooden spoon favorites are struggling after losses to Collingwood and the Eagles to start the season.
