US Open 2014: The Grand Slam of the Americas Starts Monday!

The last grand slam event of the year is always on North American soil. The US Open is the 'grand slam of the Americas.' Another interesting field of players in various classes will vie for the various amounts of tennis lore on display.

For instance, the men's singles. No Rafa Nadal because he had to withdraw due to injury. Nadal was last year's men's singles champion of the Open, who ended his over the year grand slam championship draught with his win. Juan Martin del Potro, who won men's singles in 2009, also has withdrawn due to injury.

Also the question: will Serena Williams win another singles title at the Open? After all, she is the defending women's singles champion. Also the Bryan brothers, the most dominating siblings in doubles tennis. Could they get another title? So many stories to devour for the next fifteen days.

Here in the states, just go there and enjoy, or watch some, if not all (try it!) of the more than 130 hours of live coverage across five networks: ESPN, ESPN2, Tennis Channel, CBS and CBS Sports Network. For CBS Sports, it is their 47th and final year at the Open because of the new deal for the ESPN/ABC family beginning next year. Longer than NBC's relationship with the All England Lawn and Tennis Club! No TV, go on USOpen.org! Radio and live video from around the ground! It is the last grand slam of the year. Enjoy it, because the Aussie Open is in January!

If you have heard by now, Don Pardo, announcer of the original JEOPARDY! series passed away on Sunday night at the age of 96. He even lent his voice to the 'Weird Al' Yankovic song from 1984, a cover of Greg Kihn's "Jeopardy."

Yet Another ISIS Beheading.

The man's final words circa 2012 before he was beheaded. But is the masked man 'really' Muslim?

Yup, that is a 'fake' Muslim with the knife.

A Short Explanation of the ALS 'Ice Bucket Challenge.'

Why the ice bucket dumpings? As you can see here, over a million have been raised for ALS research, simply by challenging one to a dumping of a bucked of ice water on video. If opposition refuses, they must donate for this cause. Celebrities and athletes have also joined in this as well as civilians. For example, free agent NHL forward Paul Bissonette with this challenge:

That's right, the second most followed NHL player on twitter would do something like this. I like this and helps spread the word for ALS. Just like #BellLetsTalk does for those across Canada battling through mental illnesses.

When I heard a remix of Ferry Corsten's "Festival Crash" recently, I thought about something. I questioned myself: "Is this a rework?" The answer is yes. System F is back with "Festival Crash" a rework featuring various mixes of the 2009 track "Radio Crash." This is the original version of "Radio Crash." Huge fan of System F over the past decade.

Teen Shot, Stores Got Vandalized. Not Surprising At All.

A man who is supposed to start college today was gunned down over the weekend in suburban St. Louis. This was not racial, because the cop was black. Then these riots ensued. I don't understand why riots would happen like this:

Typical EBT Neanderthal scum. Whoever got caught will all go down. No wonder these are some of the most hated species on earth.

MMA World Series of Fighting 12 Saturday!

MMA World Series of Fighting is back this weekend!

The 12th event for this young organization has an okay card, but worth checking out. Luis Palomino and the return of Elvis Mutapcic in the cage are among those expected to fight on the main card from Las Vegas.

This is also part of a doubleheader of fight cards on NBCSN Saturday night, which kicks off with Main Events Fight Night, featuring the return of Vyacheslav 'Czar' Glazkov, a knockout power. Glazkov is one reason why the ex-Soviet Bloc nation fighters are taking over boxing. Not just Glazkov, but also Ruslan Provodnikov, Sergey Kovalev, Beibut Shumenov and of course Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin.

So if I were you, keep it locked to NBCSN Saturday night and avoid that dry-ass swag fag card on SHOWTIME.

PGA Championship 2014: The Major Formerly Known As "Glory's Last Shot"

Who couldn't forget last year when Jason Dufner finally won this event, as this is his first(?) major he won! Then he celebrated when he sat on the grass with his hands on his ass. Hence, the 'Dufnering' fad. I won't forget about that.

He is in Louisville this weekend to defend the Wanamaker against a slew of favorites in this year's final major.

During USA Basketball scrimmage. This was to determine the roster for USA Basketball's men's national team for Spain 2014, the FIBA World Cup (formerly FIBA World Championships), which is later this month.

Huge loss, could be done for an entire year of club ball. We've seen worse. Joe Theismann, Kevin Ware just to name a few.
