'Chevy Guy': Deer in the Headlights Moment?

Check out this man, regional manager for General Motors division, Chevrolet, as he is about to present World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner with the keys to a 2015 Colorado:

He and 'Marlins Man' (the man with the orange Marlins jacket that has been at every game in the series) are both my World Series MVP's. Bumgarner should've gone full blown Richard Sherman as well, because...well...Erin Andrews.

Note: this was also Bud Selig's final World Series as the commissioner.

Giants Again!

2nd time in five years. Madison Bumgarner got series MVP. Also great season for the Royals as well. 2043, perhaps?

World Series 2014 Starts Tuesday: Speed Versus Agility

It's that time again. Late October has a special meaning in sport. Forget about football and other sports stuff. Let's finish out the Major League season in good fashion.

The 'undefeated' Kansas City Royals! Undefeated in the playoffs, that is, through excellent speed at the bases, and nonstop plays defensively have surprised everyone in this year's postseason. This also marks the Royals' first time in the World Series since 1985, the year they won the 'I-70 Series.'

The Giants are yet again as National League champions. It is their third time within five years, and in 2010 and 2012, were world champions. Great pitching matchup in game 1 on Tuesday night with Jake Shields taking on Madison Bumgarner, the most valuable player of the National League Championship Series.

World Series 2013: Starts Wednesday

Flawless, accurate pitching will be on display beginning Wednesday in the annual Fall Classic between the Cardinals and Red Sox.

Did I just typed the words 'flawless, accurate pitching'? To describe what I just wrote, it will be just the same thing as was in the other postseason series between these two teams, ranging from the no-hitter attempts of young Michael Wacha to the one and one-third saves of Koji Uehara, the AL MVP. This series is not a miss, unless you enjoy great, accurate pitching, coupled by the offensive styles of the such as David Freese, David Ortiz or even outfielder Shane Victorino, who hit the go ahead grand slam in ALCS game 6 on Saturday night (while the boneheads were watching FSU-Clemson, UFC, Provodnikov-Bradley, etc.)

With all of this combined, this should be a great series. And this is the second time since 2004 that these two teams will meet in the Fall Classic. With that in mind...

*-if necessary.

Baseball's Postseason 2013: Divisional Series

After two decades of losing seasons, the Pirates had to win their National League wild card game with the Reds on Tuesday night, and did so in spectacular fashion. Now the Pirates are in the National League divisional series starting today in St. Louis, where it is sunny (despite 40% chance of rain) as I am blogging right now.

In other playoff news, the Rays continuing their road tour in full form, with season ending sweeps in New York and Toronto, followed by Monday's Game 163 win over the Rangers and Wednesday night's American League wild card win in Cleveland. The Rays' world tour continues as they head down Interstate 90 for their first game of the divisional series with the Red Sox.
