World Series 2014 Starts Tuesday: Speed Versus Agility

It's that time again. Late October has a special meaning in sport. Forget about football and other sports stuff. Let's finish out the Major League season in good fashion.

The 'undefeated' Kansas City Royals! Undefeated in the playoffs, that is, through excellent speed at the bases, and nonstop plays defensively have surprised everyone in this year's postseason. This also marks the Royals' first time in the World Series since 1985, the year they won the 'I-70 Series.'

The Giants are yet again as National League champions. It is their third time within five years, and in 2010 and 2012, were world champions. Great pitching matchup in game 1 on Tuesday night with Jake Shields taking on Madison Bumgarner, the most valuable player of the National League Championship Series.

A Clean Sweep for the Giants.

Congrats to the Giants on their sweep for their second title in three years under Bruce Bochy. "Panda Express" Pablo Sandoval is the series MVP with at least .500 batting average, with three home runs in game 2.

World Series 2012: Baked Ziti, And Then Some.

In game 1, Barry Zito finally got a postseason win, and Pablo Sandoval had a hat trick of homers. Who knows what the rest of the series will hold for either team!

League Championship Series Starts TONIGHT!

It's that time! In the midst of the football season, four teams in baseball's highest level are in a stage of a lifetime-to return to the World Series. All four teams-Tigers, Cardinals, Giants and Yankees are all former champions. The Cards are defending world champs. The four divisional series saw a lot of drama, especially in the Nationals/Cards series, where in game 5, a two run lead for the Nats disappeared into a clincher for the Cards.

Now four are one step away from a return. Who will prevail as the league championship series is now here!

What We Have Learned (or Learnt) from Super Bowl XLVI

What have we (the individuals) learned from Super Bowl XLVI: A lot.

The fact is that it's the same exciting finish between both teams like it was in XLII. Eli Manning got MVP-again. Tom Coughlin got another world title under his belt (wonder if he stayed at the Jags...). Finally, NBCee-It. Like CBS Eye Control and Fox Super Zoom (I think?) has, technology has improved in sport television.

In a follow-up post will be a commercial review of the game.

It Comes Down to This...

Sunday is Super Bowl Sunday and it's the rematch of Super Bowl XLII between the Giants and Pats.

The Giants, champions of the National East division, made it through the playoffs via wild card, destroying the Falcons, then the Packers in the divisional and the 49ers in the championship game. The Pats however, they managed to knock out the Broncos and held on to dear life against the Ravens in the championship game.

If my memory serves me correct, the last two meetings, the Giants beat the Pats-in both XLII and during the regular season (both will play again in 2015).

And the commercials, will they show the awesomeness of last year such as this...

NFL Conference Championship Weekend 2011/12: Review of the Games.

I had been doing my studies, plus with the National conference championship in its latter stages competing against the Aussie Open on ESPN2, I didn't watch very much of either.

But here's my review:

AMERICAN conference championship-I felt that the Ravens had been screwed out by the refs. They had the game won, and a touchdown that should've been called late. Plus the insult to injury by former Cowboy Billy Cundiff didn't do any justice. Not really a good match nonetheless.

NATIONAL conference championship-Not really the same flare as the '90 National Conference championship, but it was the same song, second verse. Niners had the game won...and then...we'll...the rest was history. I am very proud to see Giants punter Steve Weatherford FINALLY playing in the Super Bowl. The farthest he's reached whilst in the NFL is the conference championship game (see the Saints in 2006).

Overall, they were okay, but very disappointed that there won't be a Harbaugh brothers Super Bowl. The Oil Drum is waiting for the Giants and Pats in less than two weeks.
