147th Belmont Stakes: Will it Finally Happen (in 37 years)?

The final piece of thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown will fit on Saturday.

It's been 37 years since a thoroughbred has won at Belmont, Pimlico and Churchill. It has been a cursed moment in animal-related sports. American Pharaoh is currently the favorite, but there's Frosted (6) and Materiality (8) which can prove them wrong.

Always remember, bet wisely if you're either at Belmont or at an OTB facility. Also watch the race, whose post time is at 6:50pm ET on NBC (in the states).

141st Kentucky Derby: Mint Juleps at Churchill are $11!

The 'run for the roses' is upon us, as the first leg of the Triple Crown is here. The party in Louisville is a buzzing each and every year.

As of now, 19 horses are entered, three scratches. American Pharaoh is the favorite at 5-2. The odds are here. Wager at your own risk.

Post time is at 6:07 Eastern (local time), and live on NBC. A lot of us will be at Derby parties and doing some OTB-ing.

Quaker Oatmeal: It's the 'Coward's Way Out.'

California Chrome's trainer Steve Coburn (rocking the Wilford Brimley moustache) after his horse finished fourth at Belmont Park, and a Triple Crown bid failed:

 



I know what he wants, but we know he's not selling Quaker Oats or diabetes testing supplies. California Chrome also suffered a hoof injury at some point during the race.

146th Belmont Stakes Saturday: Can California Chrome Break the 36-Year Itch?

The final leg of the Triple Crown of thoroughbred racing is on Saturday. California Chrome blasted through the field to take the races at Churchill and Pimlico. Now it's off to hot Belmont Park for the final leg on Saturday.

California Chrome has got the clearance by the NYRA to wear a nasal strip, similar to the one worn for Churchill and Pimlico. Will that strip work in very hot conditions Saturday? Tune in to NBC after 6pm NAEDT.

At this moment, California Chrome is the favorite at 3/5. But plenty of great contenders to steal the show as well. Do research before betting.

139th Preakness: California Chrome is the Favorite (No Surprise)!

California Chrome will come out of post 3 for Saturday's 139th edition of the Preakness Stakes from Pimlico in Baltimore.

The Kentucky Derby winner is right now at a 3-5 odds, making it the favorite to go 2 for 2 in the Triple Crown of thoroughbred racing.

Also if you want a horse for the upset, try Social Inclusion at 5-1.

140th Kentucky Derby Saturday!

It's that time again! Triple Crown season!

It starts at Churchill Downs on Saturday for the 140th Kentucky Derby, whose post time (race 11 on the day's schedule at Churchill) will be at around 6:07pm local time.

Hoppertunity (horse #11) has withdrawn due to injury. California Chrome is the current favorite at 5-2. 19 horses will post.

Will there be a Triple Crown winner this year? Who knows. In the states, it's on NBC, or try to go to an OTB just to bet like I did a few years back.

What's Another Year?

Not a reference to the 1980 song by Johnny Logan, which won EUROVISION by the way, but more about thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown.

Oxbow wins at Pimlico, Baltimore on Saturday.

Once again, no Triple Crown. Orb ran in the back most of the way and was not a contender.

Petit Le Mans 2012: The Fifteenth Annual

The hideous Delta Wang is back!

The same Delta Wang that ran at the 24 Heures du Mans back in June and crashed out with about 8 hours left to go.

The Delta Wang is among 45 entries that will compete in the final event of the 2012 American Le Mans season at Road Atlanta. The length of the Petit Le Mans (15th annual) is usually either 10 hours or 1000 miles.

This year, no Audis or Peugeots (sad), but the FIA World Endurance Challenge teams have crossed over the pond to this event. So you will see some teams that competed at Le Mans back in June race, in order to gain a spot for the 24 Heures in June from the l'ACO.

It's that time again! The first race of the 2011 Triple Crown is here, with the "Run for the Roses." This is the time where fans will invade Churchill soaking up the day of races while sipping mint juleps. More fans will head to OTB sites to watch and bet on the race. Yes, it's not the Super Bowl of thoroughbred racing (that title belongs to Breeders Cup weekend), but it is a vital role in the industry.
