Static-X founder and front man Wayne Static passed away earlier this week at the age of 48. Static-X, Wisconsin based metal band, had been around for sometime. I liked these guys, and one of my favorite songs from these guys happened to be "This is Not" from 2001's Machine.

Wayne Static also directed videos himself, including of his band's. He also can be seen in the video, as he was a contributor to the scratch DJ trio X-Ecutioners' "It's Goin' Down."

As you are aware, GWAR co-founder and frontman Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie) passed away at the age of 50, via drug related causes. GWAR (God What an Awful Racket!) will continue on for now, but here I leave you with "Bring Back the Bomb," from War Party, released 2004.

Friday Jukebox 10.4.13

Since "METALLICA: Through the Never" is out in theatres (mostly IMAX theaters) right now, I'd figure it's the right time to bring up a METALLICA song. Therefore, here is "Master of Puppets," title track from their 1986 album, their last with the late Cliff Burton before he was perished in the band's bus crash that year. Based upon the promos for the film, I'm sensing that this is used in the film, and I haven't seen the film yet!

Also fans of Michael Savage will recognize this as the San Francisco-based radio host's intro to his live broadcasts, proceeded with a statement from the announcer: "Warning: The Michael Savage Show contains adult language, adult content, psychological nudity. Listener discretion is advised."
