CFL 2014 Begins Tonight; Redblacks Begin Inaugural Season Next Thursday

The CFL season is back this weekend!

Much needed news for all gridiron fans after the league faced a lot of labor issues. Thank goodness they don't need a lockout.

Last year was the inaugural year for the Bombers at Investors Group Field (pictured), and despite missing the playoffs, they needed a new place that is state of the art in this day and age. The Bombers will host the Alouettes tonight. Investors Group Field will be among the venues for next year's FIFA World Cup for Women as Canada will be the host nation.

The defending Grey Cup champions begin their 2014 season on Sunday as the Roughriders travel to Commonwealth to take on the Eskimos.

One more thing, the new Ottawa Redblacks will kick off their season in Winnipeg next Thursday. Good to see football back in Ottawa. Every game is on TSN exclusively in Canada with some games on TV here in the states.

Grey Cup (Coupe Grey) Moment #5: The 13th Man

As the Grey Cup (Coupe Grey) centenary approches on Sunday, here is the last Grey Cup moment that I thought of was the "13th Man" game in 2009. I was so pissed off of the mistake the Roughriders special teams coach did when Duval went for the field goal:

CFL Divisional Final Sunday 2012

For four teams, this is the weekend. The weekend to prove themselves that they are Grey Cup material. The defending Cup champs will headline the division final Sunday with the Lions hosting the Stampeders, while the Alouettes host the Argonauts in the East final.

CFL Playoffs 2011: Semifinal Weekend!

It's playoff time in the CFL and for four teams, the road to Vancouver begins this weekend!

The two time defending Grey Cup champs Alouettes will play in the East semifinal against Hamilton. The Ti-Cats are back in the post season for the second year in a row after dismal years at the bottom. What will the greatest quarterback of all time do in this game for the Als? The winner will take on the Bombers next weekend in the East final.

It's the battle of Alberta in the west semifinal with the Esks and Stamps on Sunday. Winner will take on the Lions next weekend in the newly-refurbished BC Place Stadium, the home of the 99th Grey Cup on US Thanksgiving weekend!
