Not really a one hit wonder by D-Mob, but one of the most underrated songs of the 1980s was "C'mon and Get Your Love" from 1989. Fitting that next month is the 'month of love' where the most number of weddings occur (that is a fact). Includes the debut of Cathy Dennis. Extended version.

Grey Cup (Coupe Grey) Moments: 1989

Since the Grey Cup Centenary is Sunday, I thought that throughout the week I have personally handpicked some of the best moments in Grey Cup (Coupe Grey) history. The final between the Stamps and Argos in Toronto is Sunday.

The first one that came into my mind is the 1989 final between the Ti-Cats and Riders, which came down to the wire:

Rover-back Glen Suitor, currently an analyst with TSN, was the holder. Had to get it out. Also it was at SkyDome, where the final is played this Sunday.

Friday Jukebox 11.11.11: A Short Tribute to Heavy D.

As you all aware, on Monday, Heavy D of Heavy D & the Boyz passed away, age 44. He has been battling obesity. A key figure of hip hop, including the "New Jack Style" of the late '80s early '90s, he has been everywhere.

In 1989, Heavy D & the Boyz released "Big Tyme," featuring "Somebody for Me," one of my favorite Heavy D tracks.
