EUROVISION: The London Olympics Edition Part 1!
The following is nothing but spoof. Please don't take this seriously.
With EUROVISION LVIII in Malmo, Sweden nine months away, and the London games' conclusion on Sunday, I thought, what if the same 42 participants from this year would send one of their Olympians from London to Malmo with a song? That would be cool! For the next six days (or seven), I'll preview what to expect from EUROVISION-The Olympics Edition! In fact, let's begin now!
ALBANIA. Brika Calja "Lift Me."
"Lift Me" is a song by the weightlifter himself. It fuses some electronic sounds with piano and some drums. It's a song about a woman that Brika is lifting in his dreams.
AUSTRIA. Dinko Jukic "Follow the Path."
"Follow the Path" is about Dinko's following in Mirna's footsteps. Mirna was not in London. Piano accomodates drums for this magical experience.
AZERBAIJAN. Sharif Sharifov "Sharif Loves It!"
Funk and soul fuel the wrestler's entry as it has the feeling of the 1970s and Sharif pinning your ass.
BELGIUM. Fanny Lecluyse "I'm a Little Tipsy, You Know."
Clubland tune about her nightclub experience in London and her dismissal from the Belgian swim team. It is from the people who produced hits for Kate Ryan and Lasgo.
BELARUS. Aliaksandra Herasimenia. "Who am I?"
"Who am I? (And What I Do?)" is about the swimmer after her surprising performances in the pool. If you're a fan of Soluna Samay, then you'll love this!
BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA. Kemal Mesic "Look Out!"
Punk rock with a backup band. That tells the story about the shot put specialist telling IAAF judges to look out while he throws.
BULGARIA. Jordan Jovtchev "Swingin'"
From the team who produced "Lubov bez Granici (Love Unlimited)" by Sofi Marinova. This fuses mid '90s Eurodance with tones of RnB and jazz, with a guest appearance by Nile Rodgers (Chic) on guitar. Sofi actually co-wrote the lyrics herself in Bulgarian and English (along with Jovtchev), which is all about Jovtchev's perseverence and agility to continue his artistic gymnastics career at age 39 on rings. Jovtchev quoted "I'm 39, and I can still do what the fuck I want to do."
The next batch of ESC: The Olympics Edition will feature these countries: Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France and Georgia.
