AFL Grand Final 2013: Dockers/Hawks on Saturday!

History will be made on Saturday afternoon at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Seas of purple and white and yellow and brown will flood the MCG for the 2013 AFL (Australian Football League) Grand Final, the championship of senior-level Australian Rules Football in Australia.

After all those years of wondering when and if they will ever make a grand final, the answer is simple. Fremantle is finally there, for the first time in just their 19th year of AFL competition. Hawthorn is no stranger to premierships, as their last one was in 2008 against Geelong.

This match will also mark Lance "Buddy" Franklin's final match with the Hawks, as he is slated to move on afterwards.

The match of course, is live and exclusive to Seven Sport, but in the states it is on Fox Soccer Plus (DIRECTV 621), at 11pm Central. Don't have it? Watch a live stream somewhere or listen to the match on various radio stations on AFL.com.au, such as 6PR, 3AW, MMM Melbourne, and others.

BELLATOR MMA: The 100th: Welterweight Tournament Final & New Season Quarterfinals

The last MMA fight card of the summer is the only TV card with welterweights only.

This is also a historical event, considering on Friday, it will be the 100th event BELLATOR MMA has done in their six (or seven) year existence, back when they had shows televised by either Fox Sports Net, NBC or ESPN Deportes.

For this card, Phoenix is the city, and a rematch for the welterweight tournament final will be the headliner as Ben Saunders and Doug Lima will fight to see who will get a shot at Ben Askren's title in the future.

While one welterweight division qualifying tournament will end, another will begin with quarterfinal action featuring the likes of Brent Weedman, Rick Hawn and the "War Machine" in action.

SIBERIA Episode 11 Review: "You Guys Shouldn't Be Here!" (Season Finale?)

Yep. More on that shortly. For the last time this season, if you haven't seen the episode, do so. If you have, scroll down in...

Three...

Two...

One!

I feel sorry for the Eastern and Central time zone crowd who watched 'inferior' shit on Monday night, such as RAW, the Under the Dome season finale, and of course the failure of Ben Rapistberger...I mean...Roethlisberger on Monday Night Football.

But for all of us hardcore SIBERIA fans, this was the last episode of the season--and possibly the series.

It all starts with some highlights of the previous episodes. It then picks up from where the rest of the 'contestants' are about to reunite. As that one group headed to the sanctuary, they knew that they were walking in a path of landmines. Irene was stuck in one, realizing that her one false move could result in her body being blown into smithereens. So, with that in mind, here comes Daniel, the co-leader of the what I now call them, the 'Geek Squad' (I used to formally call those four the 'Fearless Four' a.k.a. Daniel, Sam, Johnny and Joyce/Carolina), except those four never wore Geek Squad outfits (the black tie, white shirt, black pants and shoes). He actually came across this barbed wire and slowly took Irene from the land mine without any harm. They would later head to the sanctuary.

While in the sanctuary, some see help on the way--in a military truck. But it wasn't the help they thought it was. This truck carried some armed men, presumably soldiers, who jumped out the truck, stormed the sanctuary, and carried the 'contestants' one by one, with the exception of Dan, Sam and Esther. Esther ducked down realizing that they would execute the rest. Joyce/Carolina told them that they were part of a reality show, and was later tied to the truck with one of the men holding a pistol to her head. As they were doing this, a blast feet away was heard and the soldiers escorted them all back into the sanctuary. Plenty of bombing and shots, giving you that wartime feeling. All of this probably had something to do with what we saw concerning the Territory of the Valleymen in the previous episode.

Later the intensity ensued. An armed soldier entered the sanctuary and fired shots. One of the 'contestants'--couldn't tell who it was--fought off the soldier and was later shot. Later that night, the guys discovered the truck was vacant and it was a good time to get the fuck out of here. So with Johnny behind the wheel, everyone hurried up to jump in while shots were fired--except a very slow Anne Marie, who tried to jump in when the truck was running, and was apparently shot in the back. She was the third 'fatality' in the series, joining Tommy in the first episode and Natalie a few episodes ago.

The next day, the truck overturned and was stuck in the snow. As they pushed the truck out, it was Esther behind the wheel this time. Just as the truck is pulled out of the snow, Esther drives away with the truck! Then the unthinkable happens. Miljan begins to tell the rest about the prize money and why Esther is running away with it. He also told the others that the prize money was originally in the Revealer! Since the AFL finals are winding down for 2013, we all know Esther is a huge fan of Geelong and they're playing in the elimination final this weekend against Hawthorn. Go Cats, and I know that Esther will put all of that prize money on the Cats. We all know about that, just like Floyd 'Money' Mayweather betting millions of dollars on college football games.

The rest (sans Esther) started to walk toward town, where the town was evacuated and Sam started to discover these flyers that warned townspeople in Cyrillic to "evacuate to the nearest army shelter." As they continued to walk whilst showing their ignorance, they discovered the military truck Esther drove as a vacated military truck, with the driver's door open! Looks like she's heading home with the money, or is she? Meanwhile, a light was on in a vacated apartment and there, they found relief. A fridge with food and drinks were begin to be invaded, while they looked for more things in the apartment. Miljan even discovered a gun and started to put it in his pocket, in case he smells suspicion.

While in the apartment, Daniel and Irene shared a special moment on the balcony, where yes folks! They 'made' up, if you know what I mean. Later, they were all watching a video shot by one of the cameramen with Johnny and Joyce/Carolina in the woods, where they were experiencing first hand how the green sky can change everything. Remember that episode where the 'contestants' discovered the green sky? I still do not know how that green sky came up? And from watching that previous episode that involves the green sky, I would have thought that was a result of a UFO touching down. But who knows. The power no doubt got toward Johnny and Joyce/Carolina that it battered them a lot enough to blame each other (again, go back to that episode as a refresher course).

Finally, the unthinkable happens. As I thought one of the soldiers is in the apartment complex, think again. This 'soldier' turned out to be none other than...Jonathan 'Bucko' Buckley, the host! And he dropped in the apartment to warn the remaining 'contestants' that "you guys shouldn't be here." And that's it. A very interesting ending to a series that is not getting enough praise from the public, especially when some thought the 'contestants' would actually die. This is fiction folks.

So as far as the final scorecard goes...
15. Harpreet (flag race elimination)
(tie) Berglind (flag race elimination)
14. Tommy (deceased)
13. George (quit)
12. Victoria (quit)
11. Natalie (deceased)
10. Anne Marie (deceased?)
9. Esther (missing? deceased?)
1. Miljan, Johnny, Dan, Sam, Irene, Joyce/Carolina, Sabina, Neeko

However the real 'winner' was again, Jonathan 'Bucko' Buckley, who showed up at the end of the episode. Remember, from the third (or fourth) episode until that final scene, he was missing. I thought he would perish in the copter crash. I was a bit surprised that Bucko would appear in the episode!

As this is the season (and possibly series) finale of SIBERIA, some want a season two. I want a season two, and I don't care if NBC renews it or the show vacates NBC for either ABC, CBS, Fox or even cable. Keep in mind, Matt Arnold (creator and co-executive producer) has a new Wizard of OZ project for NBC that is coming soon. Don't know where this show will go, and my best bet is that if there is a season two, I'd love to see it on cable, and possibly on AMC, TNT, Showtime, HBO, starz, Audience (DirecTV), FX, or FXX. Even FXXX, when that network goes on the air. Cable/satellite is a better avenue for dramatic TV than broadcast network, considering on cable/satellite, you can say words like 'shit,' and on HBO or Showtime, you can say the word 'fuck' and titties are also shown as well. So the possibilities are endless.

NRL Finals Series 2013 This Weekend!

The Sydney Roosters are the team to beat in 2013, as the NRL finals series begin.

On Friday, the first match of the finals series took place as South Sydney defeated Melbourne 20-10 in the first of two qualifying finals. The second qualifying final will feature Sydney and Manly on Saturday night.

The two elimination finals feature Queensland and Cronulla in one match, while the other elimination final will be decided between Canterbury and Newcastle.

To recap...
QUALIFYING FINALS
(1) Sydney v (4) Manly
(2) South Sydney v (3) Melbourne
ELIMINATION FINALS
(5) Cronulla v (8) Queensland
(6) Canterbury v (7) Newcastle

In the states, Fox Sports 2 will carry the matches. For live timing and scoring, visit NRL.com.

THE ONE: Mayweather/Canelo, Matthysse/Garcia & Smith/Molina Saturday!

Saturday will once again be a busy sport day in the states. Not only plenty of FBS, FCS and downward football, but the return of MMA World Series of Fighting, however, there is one event that most of the world is watching.

That's right. For those who think boxing is dead, then watch this on Saturday. Saul 'El Canelo' Alvarez and Floyd 'Money' Mayweather have no losses, a combined two draws (I think), but both are champions. The super welterweight division championship is also on the line here. Who will be the one that will stand on Saturday? My gut feeling says that Canelo will take Floyd the distance and win, by a 115-112 score. Canelo is the future of boxing.

Lucas 'Machine' Matthysse is back in the ring for the third time in 2013. His brutal KO's will think that he should do the same to Danny 'Swift' Garcia. He is the modern day Ivan Drago, because almost all of his victories were by knockout. It's his punching power that counts.

And also on this card is 35-year old Ishe Smith defending his title against Carlos Molina. This one should go the distance. Smith will repeat as champ, but will he show some tears, similar to the interview from his recent fight where he bursted into tears after becoming champion? We'll see.

By the way, the card will be shown in theaters. For the theater that is showing the fight, go to FathomEvents.com. The event will also be on SHOWTIME PPV Saturday. $64.95 for regular TV's, and $74.95 for HD's. The prices might not look good, but trust me, you'll enjoy the action, so quit crying and do it!

WAR CANELO & MATTHYSSE!

MMA World Series of Fighting 5: The One Alternative to "The One"!

While most of the combat sports world will have their eyes on "The One" in Las Vegas Saturday night, there is 'the one' true combat sport alternative to "The One."

MMA World Series of Fighting is BACK! This will be their fifth event, live from Atlantic City on Saturday night, and headlined by Andrei Arlovski taking on Mike Kyle.

In addition, their very first tournament will take place, as both semifinal matches in the middleweight division will feature top notch talents. Dave Branch faces Danillo Villefort while Elvis Mutapcic takes on Jesse Taylor. Both to decide the first ever MMA-WSOF middleweight champion.

If you're not interested in "The One," then this is the one. Live on NBCSN Saturday night.

With SIBERIA closing out with its (hopefully it is their season) finale on Monday, I figure today's FJ will be devoted to the only cast member on that show (I believe) with a musical piece that is on iTunes. Here is that piece--a brilliant piano piece--by Miljan Milosevic, called "Sunday," released 2010.

Happy fight weekend guys...WAR CANELO! WAR MATTHYSSE!

Remember it's "Go see Cal." NOT "Pussy Cow"!

Before there were chains like AutoNation, there was Cal Worthington. He owned 29 dealerships from Anchorage to Houston, including Worthington Chevy in Houston.

"Instagram Was a Crack Cocaine Delivery Service": Impressions on Arsenio Hall's Late Night Return

For those in most parts of the country, 11pm now has new competition.

Why did I say competition? Because Monday night was the return of Arsenio Hall to late night television for the first time in 19 years.

In most markets, his syndicated show (and is syndicated, just like his 1989-94 run) is on at 11pm Eastern (or 10pm Central), competing with national shows like Conan or Chelsea Lately. I decided to give his return a shot, and I was quite impressed.

It starts off with him on the couch, and then a shot is panned out only to learn it is none other than...Jay Leno! Later he was discussing about the differences between 2013 and 1994, such as this: "Back then, Instagram was a crack cocaine delivery service."

Then a series of skits, including parodies of Prison Break and Downton Abbey, followed by Snoop! Yes folks, Snoop took us to the break!

After break, it was a treasure hunt of sorts. Arsenio digged deep in a box to find such following items as: AOL trial version, One Direction diapers, Kim Kardashian tricycle, Kate Upton training bra, Alex Rodriguez glove with syringes and pills, and a Paula Abdul prosthetic ass! A signal for Paula herself to come out, to welcome Arsenio back to late night television.

Chris Tucker was his first guest in his return episode, discussing all things, including the America's Cup. Then Snoop joined in, and would later close the show.

In all, it was a very good return for Hall. Perhaps a huge victory for syndicated television, for a man who had to overcome the obvious in his first run-from Bill Clinton on a sax to the Ultimate Warrior's appearance before WRESTLEMANIA VI in Toronto in 1990. Welcome back to late night Arsenio.

One!

Monday night was a hell of a viewing night. The US Open men's final concluded, and my Texans opened up the season in fine fashion. However, in between the tennis and football was another integral part of the night: the latest episode of SIBERIA.

It first picks up from last episode when those webfoot men from a tribe showed up at the cabin door. There, they 'escorted' Miljan, Neeko and Sabina to a tent on a tribal ground. There, they are  joined by...(drumroll please)...Anne Marie and Esther. Despite being warned, all five were kept warm wondering where they would go next. Those five would later be treated to an appearance from the tribe's shaman. I wonder if with all that humming is he: a) on crack, b) on roids, or c) erectile dysfunction. That man probably scared the shit out of those guys. Without no harm, he left.

Those five also saw a man carried back to the tribal grounds, presumed to be shot by a rival tribe. Neeko asked the tribeswomen that they want to see their 'friend.' As they proceed, the armed tribes men escorted the five to another tent, where in that tent, is an ailing Irene, who smiled when she was happy to see those guys. Later, Neeko, Miljan, Anne Marie, Esther and Sabina were escorted back to the cabin to get their belongings. Irene sat on the sled as well. As they headed down a territory by themselves, there was a domed structure that belonged to another tribe. Or was NBC promoting Under the Dome? They all went back to the cabin safely and gathered their belongings.

Meanwhile, back at the sanctuary, Joyce discovered a meteorite, while Johnny discovered a human studies test group mechanism. Remember that episode where they mentioned about the Revealer as a behavior study mechanism? It could be the dead that could watch the remaining ten.

Perhaps there were some tense moments in that sanctuary. The first was between Johnny and Joyce (or Carolina, same fucking person) where they both argued for some time. Joyce questioned him at one point: "You ride bulls? What kind of bulls do you ride?" Hilarious moment where I thought Johnny was gonna slap the taste out of her. The second was the installment of the cables to the CB radio system. As Dan got up there with the wiring, I'm assuming the roof was icy and he fell off hard, resulting in the back of his head bleeding. The nerdiest of the bunch is a soldier. Who needs concussion protocol?

As soon as Dan and Sam got everything hooked up, it was time to test. Daniel took numerous hours testing the CB radio to see if it worked. It did, and when it did, a message was transmitted in Russian. Despite the 'fearless four's lack of understanding of the Cyrillic/Russian alphabet/language, they finally knew help would be on the way.

Is help REALLY on the way? Or is this a trap? Perhaps a Russian mafia hit? Or will one by one turn on each other? Or even Borat kidnap all of them and send them to Kazakhstan? Or even Fedor Emelianenko or Vladimir Putin makes a cameo appearance? The finale (possibly series finale) is next week, with some major competition on ESPN called Monday Night Football.

As for the scorecard...

15. Harpreet (flag race elimination)
(tie) Berglind (flag race elimination)
14. Tommy (deceased)
13. George (quit)
12. Victoria (quit)

Still alive: Miljan, Neeko, Sabina, Anne Marie, Esther, Irene, Sam, Dan, Johnny, Joyce/Carolina

NFL Season 2013 Starts Thursday!

The NFL regular season is back this weekend.

It all begins with a rematch of the American Conference semifinal between the Ravens and Broncos (remember that game?) on Thursday night on NBC. That same night, will be the US Open and whatever game is on Fox Sports 1 (and another game on Pac 12 Networks that night as well).

Sunday is the day that CBS has the women's final at the US Open. They have a singleheader, while Fox has the doubleheader. When Fox has the late games, it's off to the US Open.

Monday night, ESPN kicks off their 2013 campaign with a doubleheader-headlined by the Texans/Chargers at 9pm Central.

NFL Network begins their 2013 season next Thursday night.

And DIRECTV has NFL Sunday Ticket free next weekend!

AFL Finals Series 2013: This Weekend

As you all know by now, Essendon was fifth on the AFL ladder when the league uncovered their training regime-including illegal substances. It won't bother me a bit, despite the fact I like EFC, and was disappointed in how it was handled. A situation almost similar to the Eagles and their 'drug' scandal of 2007, a year after winning the premiership. Anyway, the points were taken away from the Bombers, despite finishing 14-8 (would have finished with 56 points), thus their finals series hopes were taken as well. Coach Hird and a few other club staffers were fined and suspended. They'll take some time before they can get over this. It will take time.

Anyway, it's finals series 2013, nonetheless. The defending premiers Sydney Swans will take on Hawthorn in the first qualifying final, a rematch from the 2012 Grand Final. Fremantle, in their best ladder position in years, travels to Victoria to take on the Cats in the other qualifying final.

Also returning to the finals is Richmond, as the Tigers are the fifth seed. In their elimination final, they will take on Carlton, who, had Essendon remained in the top eight, would have finished about ninth on the ladder. Port also returns to the finals as they travel to Victoria to take on the Pies.

This finals series seems to be a bit odd this year, doesn't it?

To recap:

Qualifying finals
(1) Hawthorn v (4) Sydney
(2) Geelong v (3) Fremantle
Elimination finals
(5) Richmond v (8) Carlton
(6) Collingwood v (7) Port Adelaide

In the states, a couple of these matches can be seen LIVE on either Fox Sports 1 or 2. Check the listings. Also AFL.com.au for live scoring, timing and radio.

SIBERIA Episode 9 Review: Get the Door, It's Not Domino's

If you haven't seen the episode, ignore this review. If you have, scroll down in...

Three...

Two...

One!

It's Labo(u)r Day night, and there were four fucking things on TV! There was the US Open, there was also Florida State/Pitt (FSU won in blowout, especially in Pitt's ACC debut), there was also Golden Boy Live, and of course, SIBERIA. It was tough turning back and fourth between all four around the 9pm hour. And since this post is about SIBERIA, here is my episode nine review.

It starts off where it is left off, where our 'fearless four' (Sam, Dan, Johnny, and Carolina) finally found sanctuary in the vacant laboratory. Daniel was chugging down the bottle of Russian Ecto-Cooler, while they all deciphered what to do there. The first place was to look was a room where a citizen's band radio was located. Those four tried to turn it on, but to no avail, there was not any communication. They also looked around the room and there, they found a wall with holes and bullets scattering. Perhaps someone shot up the building.

Moments later, with flashlights, Daniel and Sam found the lab. There were cutting tools, and some chemicals. Somewhere in there was probably some ephemerol (Scanners reference). Then Dan and Sam found something creeping behind a curtain, and they pulled the curtain--only to discover it was a falcon. A falcon. In a cage. Also in that lab were these gas tanks. I'm assuming those probably belong to Gazprom. As soon as they hooked the tanks up, Dan manned the switches and voila! There was light, or was there? The lights flickered for a few until they actually came on. While the lights flickered, it was discovered that there were bodies on and around the desk in the office. The bullets and those bodies could be a dead giveaway that this could be a mafia hit.

As soon as the lights fully came on, there was another shocking discovery. This was the beacon those 'fearless four' brought about. It appeared to have been dismantled. Back inside, Carolina was kneeling next to one of the bodies, pulling both boots off of the foot of that body whilst crying. No guys, she wasn't about to lick those feet you fucking foot fetish weirdos! Later, Dan discovered a footage from 1927--presumed to be silent--of a band of guys on horse back marching in the snow.

While the 'fearsome four' were overcome with fear while surviving in the lab, it wasn't that easy back on the compound. Armed with a bow and arrow, to the shock of Sabina and Neeko, was Miljan. Yes folks, he is back. He told Sabina and Neeko that 'they' took her, and I'm assuming that Miljan is referring to Irene. There were also noises near the compound, so fearing for their safety, some things had to be done. First, in the Olympic spirit--since Sochi is five months away--the makeshift torches. These are probably made to scare off the creepers. In addition, Sabina had her gun ready in case she had to blow someone's head off. All in the name of safety.

The next day, there were these planes flying over the compound. Possibly Russian Air Force jets on a training mission. No guys, they weren't there to rescue them from the compound. Finally, as I wrote down earlier, Dan saw the 1927 footage online of these guys on horseback on the snow. Note, the end of the recent episode where the footprints were scattered. I can assume those prints are of the horses the men were on, or is this a new breed? As Miljan went outside to look at this disturbance outside of the cabin, there were these men with guns, all at the door. Sabina and Neeko are extremely scared. So is anyone assuming that these men are recruiting Miljan, Sabina and Neeko for a mission to hunt down the 'fearless four'? We'll wait until next episode.

By the way, Miljan said that he told the rest on the compound about what he saw. He said that he is "not crazy." I believe him. Will everyone else?

Irene was also missing from the episode, whilst Anne Marie and Esther are also trying to stay alive.

As for the scorecard:

ELIMINATED:
15. Harpreet (flag race elimination)
(tie) Berglind (flag race elimination)
14. Tommy (deceased)
13. George (quit)
12. Victoria (quit)
11. Natalie (deceased)

Hanging on: Anne Marie, Esther, Sabina, Neeko, Miljan, Irene

Also in this: Johnny, Dan, Sam, Carolina
