Here is Mo Lawal's return to MMA, in stunning knockout fashion last Thursday night at BELLATOR 86:

EUROVISION LVIII Update: Esma for Macedonia, Georgia and G:Son and More

The Gypsy (Roma) invasion to EUROVISION continues. The Gypsy queen Esma Redzepova, at 69, will team up with Vlatko Lozanoski Lozano for a song that both will represent Macedonia at EUROVISION LVIII in May.

Esma and Vlatko were chosen by the ESC broadcaster in Macedonia to represent FYROM at Malmo. For the last couple of years, Macedonia in ESC was represented by Kaliopi Bukle, who last year went to the final at Baku with "Crno i Belo." Esma's masterpiece, "Caje Sukarije" was featured in the soundtrack to the 2006 film, BORAT: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakstan. However, it was without copyright notice that she sued Fox and the record label of the movie's soundtrack.

Roma (Gypsies) are no stranger to EUROVISION. Gipsy.cz, who was the last representative for Czech Republic in 2009, had zero points on their performance of their song, "Avec Romale", thus the Czech ESC has since withdrawn. Last year, Sofia Marinova (Bulgaria 2012) almost put Bulgaria in the final for their second time in their short ESC history with "Lubov bez Granici," but lost out in a tie with "Stay" by Touraj "Tooji" Keshtar (Norway 2012).

Elsewhere, Georgia selected their entrant: Nodi Tatishvili and Sophie Gelovani. Both will collaborate on an untitled song (at this moment), that is expected to be written by Thomas 'G:Son' Gustafsson, who was the writer on Loreen Talhaoui's "Euphoria," the winning song from ESC LVII.

France, Denmark, Albania and Armenia has also selected entrants as well.

As of now, this is the updated list of competitors at ESC LVIII:

Who See "Reggaeton Montenegro" (MNE)
Heilsarmee "You and Me" (SUI)
Alena Lanskaya "Rhythm of Love" (BLR)
Zlata Ognevich "Gravity" (UKR)
Andrius Pojavis "Something" (LTU)
Roberto Bellarosa "Love Kills" (BEL)
Adrian Lulgjuraj, Bledar Sejko "Identiet" (ALB)
Amadine Bourgeois "L'enfer Et Moi" (FRA)
Nodi Tatishvili, Sophie Gelovani "TBA" (GEO)
Gor Sujyan "TBA" (ARM)
Esma Redzepova, Vlatko Lozanoski Lozano "TBA" (MKD)
Anouk "TBA" (NED)
El Sueno de Morfeo "TBA" (ESP)
Emmelie de Forest "Teardrops" (DEN)

San Marino and Malta will announce theirs this week and others to come throughout the months, so come back here for updates!

Friday Jukebox 1.25.13: The Mars Volta Breakup Special.

With news of the breakup of the Mars Volta, comes a gem from their 2003 debut De-Loused in the Comatorium. The first single from that album is a great one, and vividly remembered it through watching the music video to it as well, called "Inertiatic ESP."

Cedric Bixler-Zavala, the front man for Mars Volta is now doing solo work. He is no stranger to band breakups, as he formed Mars Volta after the break-up of his band, At the Drive-In in 2002. The rest of At the Drive-In left to form a band called Sparta, and released Aquifer months before the Mars Volta released De-Loused, both in 2003.

Hopefully they will learn from past shows such as RollerGames and WSL RollerJam and not add storylines, which ruins it all.

Assassination Attempt Caught on Tape?

Check out this man, presumably a registered delegate with the Movement of Rights and Freedoms party hold a gas pistol toward MRF leader Ahmed Dogan in Sofia Tuesday...

The response of the gunman getting his ass kicked is hilarious. Even Bulgarian PM Borisov (leader of the majority CEDB/GERB party) doesn't like it...

The MRF is a party that represents ethnic turks and minorities, and very liberal. It has been under fire for friction within the party and rigging votes in elections.

BELLATOR 86: Askren v Amoussou for Welterweight Title and Mo Lawal's MMA Return

Finally it is great to be back posting pictures on my blog.

With that in mind, BELLATOR 86 will be just as explosive as Thursday night's BELLATOR 85. Why? Because Ben 'Funky' Askren will return to the cage and defend his welterweight title against the most recent welterweight tournament champion Karl Amoussou.

Also, there are four welterweight tournament quarterfinal matches featuring the likes of Brent Weedman, Marius Zaromskis, Doug Lima, Ben Saunders and Mikhail Tsarev.

But that's not all! the final quarterfinal match in the light heavyweight tournament will mark Mo Lawal's return to MMA as this will be his first fight with BELLATOR for the RPW (which was a GOOD concept, but short lived) and Strikeforce star.

Burger King Sex Lawsuit and Academy Award Nominees 2013 on My Backup Blog

Since I'm still having problems uploading images to this blog (Google is trying to work on this problem), on my backup blog, I have posted two things:
  • Burger King sex lawsuit. So much for getting busy in a Burger King bathroom.
  • The Academy Award nominations are out. If you're a fan of C.L. Bryant's Runaway Slave or another documentary, 2016: Obama's America, the news is not good. Shame on the voters.

Paparazzo Killed

First Diana and now this. We learned a whole lot from the dangers of being a paparazzo. And no, I'm not a Justin Bieber fan, but something is screwy here...
